  • Look i grew up in the 2000 watching disney

so i kinda think this intro is crappy but so is the ones from 2005-2012

i liked the opnes from 2000-2004 there too mature now

and i now when they share a kiss in these movies they pratically makeout

and not have a simple peck

i kinda like the movies from 1990-2000 but i have to stay awake till 3am to watch

    them :((

  • look how beautiful, serene, and sweet it used to be. NOw its bullshit

  • So beautiful and calming.

  • Does anyone remember the Disney Summer Vacation?

  • i miss the 90s

  • i need help trying to remember a show from the 90's on disney. it was an animal show, aired on a block called "disney chanimal", i think it was something like "wild animals", or something. i for the likes of me can't remember the name of the show!

  • @funtyrone

I remember in the late '90's there was a Jeff Corwin series and another series called Umba Makumba (sp?). The latter was about an African man and his assistant Candace and kids would e-mail him questions about animals. I hope this helps.

  • OMG THATS THE BEST LINEUP EVER wtf happened?

  • hannah montana does not belong in disney, cmon disney bring back all those magical cartoons with heartwarming stories and cheerful musicals that was the disney I knew not this teen garbage.. disney is supposed to be family show stop putting all this focus on teen stuff it's rubbish it's not MTV!

  • My advice to Disney Channel: Your preschool block (Disney Jr.) lives to its name better than you!

  • @ShredderzGirl I love the crystal Mickey logo, though. <3

  • @ShredderzGirl Let's hope when it becomes its own channel next year, they'll air the classic cartoons (even some of the Disney afternoon shows would fit in well even in their late night schedule). I mean, next year, they're going to have Disney Channel, Disney XD AND Disney Junior as channels, 3 disney channels, there's A LOT of room for the classics we grew up with to be aired in fully.

  • What a classy intro and lineup.

  • man I miss this theme alot. I can't thank you enough for uploading this.

  • I absolutely agree with you but Disney needs to restore its' America's Family Network programming block to their former glory when DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990) (6:30 PM) and Ghostbusters II (1989) (11:00 PM return to The Same Old Disney Channel, accompanied by Garry Marshall's romantic family comedy, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004) (8:00 PM).

  • what caused Disney and even nick to abandon its old style and insert tons of crappy sitcoms? sure Saved by the Bell came on a lot back then, but it didn't come on all day long on the same channel.

  • This is the Disney I like! Although I was a teen in the early 90's I gave birth to a daughter in 1990 and we loved watching Disney together. Shame what they have done to that channel.

  • @Trekkie155 thanks for informing me! Yeah the Disney channel will never be the same as it was in the 90's and early 00's. They can't even make any decent teen films like they did back in the day.

  • The beginning sounded a bit like the theme to "All My Children".

  • @lolabannana89 I agree! I just don't understand what kids these days get from these shows. Disney is not only channel tha sucks. Nickelodeon is just as bad. I use to come home from school at 3pm and the tv show figure it out was on, all that and Amanda show and etc. Tv back then was AMAZING!

  • Isn't it sick to think that kids now will be looking back on shows like Hannah Montana thinking THAT was an amazing show?? Too bad they'll never know what we had in the 90's. :(

  • Whatever happened to Disney showing stuff like this?

  • wow this was only like 20 years ago. o.o

  • WOw. It's like stepping right back into my childhood.

  • You can get most of the shows from this era on DVD now.

  • The old PBS Disney era!

  • Man, this is really classy. They don't try to use any dumb special effects or show a bunch of tweens drawing the silhouette of Mickey's ears with a magic wand at the bottom of the screen or anything.

  • Wow... Back when the magic of Disney filled your living room. I miss these days like you wouldn't believe...

  • man I ao wanted to hear this jingle again

  • GOT DAAAAMN that was a good ass night of TV shit i wish i could catch some back to back classics on TV like that now. Thats why i used to watch so much damn TV as a kid. TV is full of BS nowdays

  • disney channel sucks as so u can lick my butthole cuz u suck

  • what date was this taped?

  • omg i cried when i saw this. so many memories just came flooding in my head from when i was a kid. not worrying about bills and rent.

  • the only time I guess most could deal with Disney is when they air a Disney film or a Pixar film but that usually once in awhile

I really really hate when they air nonDisney movies!(sharkboy & lavagirl) like wth! they have so much of their own movies but choose not to air it

  • Oh man what an epic lineup.

  • Comment removed

  • This was back when the Disney Channel was actually good. Now it sucks! A lot of good shows I watched on it when I was a kid got replaced by BIG pieces of crap such as Hannah Montana, JONAS, Wizards of Waverly Place, Phineas and Ferb, Sonny with a Chance, and other stupid shows. Now I think The Suite Life shows are okay, but they're still not my favorite. I want the old Disney Channel back.

  • @EvanSkaggs94 ... But If We Get "The Disney Channel" Back Replacing "Disney Channel" I Won't Get To Watch My Favorite Show, Phineas And Ferb

  • Disney sucks now!

I want my 90s nickelodeon back too!!

  • ..i miss this..

i mean, lizzie mcguire, even stevens & thats so raven, even they were DECENT...

after they ended it went downhill...because those shows taught meanings...not like other crap, what does "sonny with a chance" or "shake it up" teach?? just kids acting like kids..

  • @GoodOldAnime Raven basically owned Disney Channel.... she had like all the solos when they did the group songs!!!

  • Wow... that is Disney Channel. The GOOD Disney Channel, not like the bullshit today.

  • Wow! That was really different

  • Oh, I would give anything to have the days when the Disney Channel was awesome back!

  • disney has gone waaaaaay downhill.

  • Wow I don't remember this at all :/ I remember the mid to late 90s though. I miss those days.

  • @flikchik27 this was used from 1989 to sometime in late 1991, possibly very early 1992.

  • R.I.P Disney Channel :..(

    1983-1996 :(

  • early 90s kicked ass!

  • Damn this must be early early 90s, I don't remember this shit.

  • Ha ha, and just think that in about ten years, people my age will look back on Hannah Montana, Wizard of Waverly Place, and JONAS and go, "Man, nothing beats the old '09 Disney" or something. Thats kinds scary XD

  • @ZurlaTheRamonEater No, they will be remembering back to these programmes as nostalgia while they still will be shit.

  • 0:33, my god. That looks like a kick ass lineup. Why can't we get something like that today?

  • at first I didn't remember this.......but once I saw the glass I remembered. Damn Disney Channel what happened?!!!

  • omg thats right they actually played MOVIES. I remember. Sadly now they just make the hanna montana, suit life, and sonny movies and replay them religiously. I think kids in this generation will grow up to make the world a crappy place with no kind of talent and just make more justin beiber music. So sad.

  • Wow, it's really a shame what's happened to Disney. It USED to be a perfect family channel. Now it's full of filth. These days, the Disney channel should be rated PG-13, seriously. There are way too many youngsters trying to idolize Hannah Montana, Brenda Song, Miley Cyrus, Sprouse twins, etc. and dressing and talking like they're teenagers. There are many people I know that do not allow their children to watch the crap on Disney channel, true story. Actually it's probably a good idea.

  • Disney channel will get better, if only some one would bump off MIley Cyrus

  • OHHH MY... I REMEMBERED THAT ONE THAT SOOO LONGER TIME AGO!! it really beautiful

  • prolly the greatest line up of all time

  • i was born in the 97 but i remember it surprisingly well. I have alotta memories for 4 and below. i wish i caould go back for like 1 day. :(

  • Does anyone remember a movie back then about a girl who like...casted a magic spell to make herself pretty so this one guy would like her? Because I was thinking about it and I really wanna watch it again =(

  • @superhelenful I think the Movie is called 'Teen Witch' :D

  • @superhelenful I think it's 'Teen Witch'

  • Yes! See, this was when The Disney Channel was actually GOOD! It had good shows, grownup stuff at night (including live concerts), and was completely commercial-free. Now, it's a bunch of "tween", teeny-bopper garbage. Also, I miss the classic Disney cartoons that the Walt Disney Company was founded upon. What happened to that stuff?

  • @bwguidry I AGREE!!! disney channel does put some classic disney cartoons on but its that 3 have a laugh thing and its not even the whole episode!!! They should really start showing the FULL episodes alot more i mean they do owe it to walt disney!! If it weren't for him there probably wouldn't even be a disney channel.

  • recovered from vhs huh

  • lol this was back when Disney Channel was just a PPV movie Channel. i remember the first day they said that Disney Channel was gonna be on regular cable channels

  • TailsMilesProwerFan1 I AGREE!!! This is REAL DISNEY CHANNEL! Not like the garbage it is now! YUK! BTW I LUV Tails too!! =)

  • Disney channel was disney themed back then! Now it girl tween stuff! I hate it!

  • man talk about when Disney channel was good also i got a question what was the name of a show that was an australian import but it was shown on the Disney Channel during the 90s it was about a kid that travels in to a parallel universe then he met a girl then the show whent to girl and the boy try to stop this one woman in geting a power suit?

  • The best Tv shows were on during the 90's, I miss those days if we can only turn back time. It may not mean much to some ppl but to some of us these were the good ole days.

  • and NO commercial interruptions!!!!

  • Goodbye, Disney Channel. We'll never forget that you brought us so much fun in the late 80's and mid 90's... ;-(

  • Hey if ESPN, VH1 have classic channel, why Disney cant create one, thesy shoul have one classic channel to enjoy and remember those programs that have special moments.

  • "America's FAMILY Network" SMH Boy have the times changed...Makes me real sad...Damn

  • When I would hear the music at 0:19, I would be thinking about my former pediatrician's clinic.

  • They don't make the shows like they used to for disney cause you have people who can't sing or act to save their lives, and use Disney Channel to make themselfs more noticed, BOOM you get a record deal. They need to bring back stuff like Lizzie McGuire, Proud Family, all the other great shows of the 90s that I can't remember at this point

  • they showed ghostbusters back then! now they only show movies with the stars of the shows on disney channel itself. what happened?

  • the new disney sucks i miss the old shows like so wierd, the jersey, the famous jett jackson, and omg lizzy mcguire. what haoppend! :(

  • WHAT HAPPENED, DISNEY??? :(

  • Three good movies in one night. How I miss the old Disney Channel so much.

  • When they had the free preview weekends

I'd be glued to the tube

  • Hey everyone! I have uploaded more Disney stuff. Check them out.

  • disney was good from 1993-2001. Anyone remember suizie Q, wish upon a star and smart guy? Disney sucks now since these kids they have on there now can't act to save there lives.

  • They all overact.

They haven't shown Suzie Q since 1999 because of...content concerns, I guess? I'm 15, so I got to see the tail end of the Golden Age of the Disney Channel, before it turned into a vehicle for launching mediocre idols.

  • Cool I'm 20 years old and I hate what they've done to that channel, this miley cyrus kid is ruining it. Anyway I don't know if your old enough to remember the good Disney shows like Famous Jett Jackson, Flash Forward and So Weird but they were amazing compared to this crap they show today.

  • I remember all of those except for Flash Forward. Unlike many of my peers, I've had cable all my life. I watched a lot of television.

  • Cool your a 90's kid!!!!!!! lol

  • LOVED So Weird!

  • Me too! Too bad they don't make shows like it anymore on Disney!

  • U're talking about the late 90's Disney channel.' 97, 98, 99.. I didnt see it then because i didnt have cable then. I'm turning 30 and I remember Disney channel from 1987, 88, 1989, 1990,1991, 1992, '93 and 94....it was at its absolute best in those years

  • @robertsnowden19 Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers

  • @robertsnowden19 Ahhh I so remember those shows! Now that I think back those shows and movies actually had positive messages in them. Lol now when i see my little sister and cousins watching the shows now i'm like what the fuck?? How the hell can kids relate to a rich girl trying to live a double life?? They got home and school problems and shit.

  • @robertsnowden19 Technically, the Miley Cyrus/HSM-era of the Disney Channel is over, but it's still crap right now.

  • @robertsnowden19 i loved so weird! and The jErsey was awesome how they got to jump into sports with a magic jersey?

  • Those were my favorites! Dang, I really miss those days =/

  • @robertsnowden19 So true. It's like it takes everything they've got just to get through a scene.

  • @robertsnowden19 You should see what people have posted of Disney Channel from the '80s and back.

  • @robertsnowden19 I remember when Disney had advertised once "The terminal classic...LADY AND THE TRAMP"...apparently we had several Siamese cats then, anyway; that's irrelevant, except Sparky got a nasty gash when Sissy (one or the Siamese cats) decided to calculate revenge on the dog

  • Wow! I have one of these, but I havent uploaded it yet. I'm not sure of the year. I think 1993? Dunno, but nice footage!

  • I love this!

  • I like your video it's great

i've got the disney channel on my tv

but too bad it all new now.

  • Comment removed

  • Who is the awesome voice-over!

  • The voiceover is done by Jerry Bishop, who today is the announcer on "Judge Judy", which I believe he has been since that show started in 1996. I think Jerry stopped doing voice-overs for the Disney channel around that time---whether he left because of a better offer with Judge Judy show I don't know.

I agree. He was an excellent voice-over and I have great memories of watching the disney channel with him announcing.

  • lol do you see that lineup!!! I can defiantly see myself as a kid again getting excited about that.

  • lol I was thinking the same thing

  • i wish they can have a marathon of all the shows they had before

  • at least we have memories from this,

i feel like crying, i hate the way things are now!

  • its amazing how fast things can change

  • I remember this back from late 80's into early 90's on the Disney Channel.

  • i wasn't born yet....

  • I really want to cry, not just because the music is so damn beautiful, but also for how much Disney Channel sucks now!

  • @madgang201

You and me both! The Disney Channel was very special in the 1980's and 1990's, but now, in my opinion, garbage is being thrown at modern-day kids. It IS a shame!

  • @RETROGEMS Those was the days. Todays Disney Channel are not good

  • This brings back memories for me as a kid. Man I miss the 90's.

  • me too.

  • @dutchmcgee101 ... I Wasn't Even Born When The Disney Channel Existed. Now I See It As Disney Channel.

  • this was WAYYY b4 i started watching disney lol

  • i remeber i first saw who framed roger rabbit on disney channel and now i wonder how they were able to show that?

i miss disney when it was good

    tv nowadays sucks

  • That is why I buy old classics and watch YouTube.

The only way to see this kind of stuff.

  • This was when they didn't have commercials on Disney... Just an advertisement for what's next then WAM on with the next show. Boy do I remember those days..

  • Ducktales the movie is AWESOME

  • smart guy was the shit back then disney and nick had great shows back ten that wenr't disguasting or violent minuts power rangers...maybe if they put these shows back on kids today wouldnt be so fucked up.

  • I don't get it. Why was this a pay channel back then?? The shows were top notch.

But now Disney is a regular channel with garbage on.

Disney these days should be what it was back then.

It's not fair that we had to pay to see the genuine good family shows disney had to offer us then, and now since it's free it's nothing but mindless teen stuff.

  • Actually, if we remember the early days of cable, it seemed they all did their own things.

But then, sometime in the 90's, the networks suddenly realized they need to 'diversify' to get more viewers. And suddenly, you had all these networks just trying to throw everything at the viewers to get them to come.

That explains why MTV is hardly ever music television, or that Cartoon Network has live-action shows.

I remember when even Nick showed 'Lassie' and 'Dennis the Menace' in the afternoon.

  • Well they made a fatal mistake when they decided to "diversify"!

I remember when Nick showed Dennis and Lassie as well. I miss those days.

It was Today's Special, You Can't Do That On TV, Lassie, Dennis.

Where is the real disney channel when we want and need ya??

  • Oh yeah, I have a video tape (that's even in good condition too) that has the Sword in the Stone recorded on it, and it was recorded off of Disney from sometime during the early 90s (I can tell because there's no commercial breaks, it has an opening featuring Micheal Eisner introducing the movie, and there's a bumper at the end of the movie telling you what's up next and it's done in a style that has the same calming feeling and similar music to this bumper). Sucks I can't upload the bumper...

  • I was born when the 90s began so most of my memories of the network are more from mid 90s and onward (obviously that means I grew up on shows like Even Stevens, the Zoog Disney thing, Goof Troop, House of Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Recess, and such [I know some of those primarily aired on ABC mornings, but Disney did air their reruns if I'm remembering correctly]).

Wow, this reminded me that I actually still have the DuckTales movie on a video tape somewhere! Gotta search for that...

  • A sharp contrast to the current announcers of Disney Channel. Here it's much more calming and puts you in a good mood, leaving your evening wide open for the night's feature presentations.

Today, it's become much more cartoonish and reved up with flashing colors and images. It may be fun and exciting, but often it leads to a very short burst of excitement that's immedietely lost once the bumper ends. It's like a spoon of sugar with no cereal to put it on.

You can learn a lot from the past.

  • I agree, the announcer makes you want to stay home, and sit down to watch the disney channel.

  • What a great comment about the announcer that is so true.

  • Yeah, too bad they took out the FAMILY in the "FAMILY NETWORK" . They emphasize too much on teenagers, less on family values. Disney Channel is BOGUS, now.

  • You got that right now in our days we got nothing but useless crap on tv thanks to abc's buying out disney like a bucket of paint

  • Actually it was Disney who bought ABC from capital cities communications, but regardless it was around this time that Disney channel did its original reformat of what became Zoog Disney, followed by of coarse its 2nd reformat around 2003 into what Disney is today.

  • I tend to agree with you how Disney Channle was all about famliy and good story telling not all about teenagers how it is like to day.

  • this was the bomb all movies

  • This was the Disney Channel that i grew up with but it is sad how MTV realiy invaded the Disney Channel

  • What a great lineup, I haven't seen Treasure of the Lost Lamp in forever.

  • Disney used to charge an arm and a leg for this channel though. Nowadays it's provided by most cable and satellite companies.

  • true story! we didn't have it when i was a kid. i would have to go to my grandma's to watch it.

  • funny how you said that i had to go to my grandparents house to watch this station to and im irish on top of that

  • My mom taped a bunch of Disney Channel stuff (The Great Mouse Detective, 3 Tall Tales, some of The Absent-Minded Professor, etc.) while it was still good and still a premium. Now we get it with our DirecTV and it's crap!

  • yoooooooo!!!! ducktales treasure of the lost arc was mah SHIIITTTT!!!!

  • The Zoogs are guilty of murder. They killed The Disney Channel. The Seaver Family, the "So Weird" Van, and that kid with "The Jersey" are all accomplices.

  • LMAO!!! hilarious!!

  • Those were the days!

  • i remember seeing that as a baby, i like the one now better

  • Those were some beautiful openings they had back in the early 90's. How could something like this turn into all that teen music stuff of today's Disney? That's just sad.

  • Ahhhh, old Disney Channel memories. I still have videos like this on some of my old recorded VHS tapes from the late 80s early 90s. Glad you posted these!

  • The music sounds so beautiful. I was born in '93 so I've never seen this before. I didn't get the Disney Channel until 1997.

  • Does anyone know where I can get/download the audio to the video?

  • maybe this was in the early 90's i dont remember this cuz i started watching disne channel back in 96 wen i wuz 2

  • the music is so soothing...making me fall asleep

  • Wow, I almost forgot the Disney Channel used to play good movies a long time ago.

  • ghost busters on disney channel?

    why dont i remember this?

    lol

  • DAMN! that was a good lineup if it was on tv right now, id sit there and watch it!

  • i really loved the disney channel at the 90's it was really really great it would be so cool to make a memory of that time

this video really bring good memories

  • Unfortunately, back in the early '90s we didn't get Disney Channel on cable-- it was still an expensive pay channel :(. My sister and I basically lived for the two times each year we would get a "free-view" of the channel.

  • I remember that when the Disney Channel was not free back in the 90s and we could only get it once in a while.

  • Same here.

  • I always thought that the Disney Channel back then only showed only Disney-produced live-action movies, or older movies. But then seeing recent films at the time such as "Ghostbusters II" on the list, I thought, whoa. Newer films? And films that are a little more rough. Most of these films were probably from Touchstone I suppose, which is owned by Disney. Of course being a more family-friendly station, they did have to bleep-out or dub the curse words.

  • "Ghostbusters II" was from Columbia Pictures. Strange seeing it on The Disney Channel.

  • I loved the piano music that played over this. I've been looking all over youtube for this. Thanks for posting. Back when 6pm would roll around, this usually became the format. Nowadays, it's loud colorful and tween-orientated.

  • wow!! Look at that lineup. Disney used to be so good!!

  • Now it's nothing. A shadow of its former self.

  • Amen!!

  • @palmercomm i think that's an insult to shadows everywhere
