i grit my teeth every time martha interrupts her! it felt like dame helen had to rush to get her opinion in before martha'd cut her off. i love listening to dame helen's english and i'd love to hear her speaking french. she could read the flipping phone book and i'd be entertained.

Indeed! It's a maddening habit! Some hosts think they are the guests! I hate when Helen gets interrupted again and again especially being so facetious and wonderfully articulate as she is! Gosh! In any case, for me it's a bit strange to see Helen playing the role of a perfect "stepford wife": somehow it doesn't fit to Fata Morgana!

Martha talks over all her guests if you notice.:( I was so bummed she did it to Helen too, she always has such fun and playful things to say. It seems a bit weird to see her in this role for me too lol.;)

I agree! Martha often talks over her guests. Helen goes give the best interviews and is so witty and insightful! Martha needed to give her more room to talk. I loved how Helen schooled her on potting the geraniums....go Helen.
