  • Omfg, i really hated this show my brother always watched it when i was little TT_TT.

  • I always get a Mormon vibe off this show.

  • Always felt sorry for the one stuck in space....

  • O_O

  • Diablox9

  • pouce bleu si tes là grace a Diablox9 =)

  • Lo máximo!!!

  • Alan and Thunderbird 3 FTW

  • @TalonMercenary Nah, nothing was classier than Penelope and her Rolls Royce :-D

  • @orochileona lol, with the machine gun in the radiator grill and missiles in the boot!

  • I love Lady Penelope!!! So nice!!!

  • I just realized that Lady Penelope must have been modeled on Barbara Bain. Yes, I know she was in Space: 1999, and not in this show; however, you must notice the remarkable resemblance.

  • Favourite TV show EVER!!! Love it.

  • Thunderbird 3 remains the coolest rocket EVER.

And the best part about Lady Penelope is when a toy company came out with Tiffany Taylor dolls that looked just like Lady P, so that 11-13 yr-old boys could sneak their sister's dolls out when everyone had left the house and proceed to mastur--- um, yeah, um.... oops, I've said too much already. No, no, what dolls? No, never happened. Not me anyway.

(said in the voice of "Red Letter Media" LOL)

  • @GradyBird69 I always that that these puppets were modeled after someone famous or not! Even Barbie must have a real model out there!

  • @ 1:23, Supermarionation = Super Mario? Really?

  • addendum: I won't let the little ones watch Team America World Police, but these 60's shows are fine.

  • Team America, World Police, 1964 style! All we need in Jane Fonda instead of Michael Moore in the 2004 version. (Oops Jane Fonda's still around.) I'm in my 20's this stuff is great! You people who watched this as kids were lucky! All my contemporaries had is the PC crap like Captain Planet. My 4 and 5 year olds love this.

  • F.A.B.

  • My Mom Favorite show....we can't Missed a show....beautiful show, nobody can made a noise with we watching this show,Back to 70's at Tegucigalpa,Honduras...Nice Memories with My Dad and Mom and Brothers....lol.

  • BEST kids show EVER,

but i personally thought 'The Hood' character was a waste of space and he wasn't needed at all really. The episodes were exciting enough without trying to 'spice' them up with silly spy plot lines, although James Bond WAS a new, popular film phenomenon at the time and i guess anything that helps to 'sell the show'. I also noticed that colour is spelt the American way 'color' in the titles (videcolor), not something that i noticed as a child :-)

  • @MrRhar1 What you mean with kids show? I still love it at the age of 30!

  • classic, I love this show.

  • Actually, it was Gerry Anderson who didn't like John Tracy's head that much and rather than be more central to the stories ended up with his Dad doing the ordering about or supplying information.

  • I guess I wasn't the only person that thought that the one with the moustache at 0:28 looked like Burt Reynolds. Cartoons like these were great fun back then before computer generated special effects took over. LOL!

  • @jewel1260 Moron

  • mm mdan miedo :/

  • Is that Burt renyolds at 29sec?

  • @MrPlumisland Yes. He was much shorter back then, but you can see it's him. : )

  • @imcustomized These are the observations that I love about youtube that I missed first time around. Like was Lady Penelope smoking Virginia Slims extra length cigarettes since it seemed as if she never had to light up?

  • i have the collection from my grandpa its seems very expensive

  • OMG! I forgot about the 5...4...3...2...1 bit. Ah nostalgia

  • wow that violin bit is epic!

  • funny how they use a gigantic rocket to save one boy on a cliff

  • @gaza10 really funny

  • I was raised on this stuff, from supercar to space 1999.great tv by the andersons.

  • The Hood is up to his usual tricks lol

  • Oh shit this sounds awesome

  • 1:14 Back in the day when meaningless, senseless explosions were the Norm!

I had these toys back in the day1

    Good times.

  • The memories!!

  • Made in Britain by the great Gerry Anderson!

  • Gazteñotan, mitil koxkorretan ekustan niezun. Anitx agrazei.

  • 5 people can't count down from 5,4,3,2,1.

  • LOL I love how they have the spoilers at the beginning

  • how come thunderbird 2 was awesome and the rest were shit?

  • TEAM AMERICA!!!

  • Hahah ancient!! I love it!

  • very very original and creative for its time

  • f .a .b

  • filmed in videcolor! Take that 1080p!

  • I'm 19 and this show STILL kicks the SHIT out of that god awful live action movie

  • i've heard that FAB actually stood for "we can do what the Fuck we want because we're American and live on a cool island...Bitch". don't know whether its true or not.

  • @addyginsh A common myth. In fact it didn't stand for anything; Gerry Anderson just wanted to use the word fab in the show

  • FAB stood for Fish Ain't Biting!

  • Comment removed

  • @addyginsh No, it stands for "Fat Arrogant Bastard" and it's usually directed at me!

  • Geenstijl swa

  • Music by Hans Zimmer

  • Lady Penelope was a babe

  • @finnemccool she still is....

  • @LANDYMAN090 Yep, she hasn't aged a bit in 47 years.

  • a proper theme tune !

  • Comment removed

  • @1:01 :NO SMOKING is clearer During Brains' silhouette. Subliminal message?

  • @joshrochanroolzutoob

I was about to say the exact thing! An early anti-smoking campaign?

  • I just love the music between 0:14 and 0:32 that's got to be the dramatic intense music ever.

  • Fucking Burt Reynolds 0:28

  • @MyAccount4TrollingU I really think it was...

  • @MyAccount4TrollingU holy shit!! Looked EXACTLY like Reynolds at 28 secs

  • knocking on 50 still fucking waiting

  • 5!

    4!

    3!

    2!

    1!

    Thunderbirds are GO!!!

Love this theme song!! Used to watch series like these all the time when i was a little kid:)

  • The puppet at 0:29 looks just like Burt Reynolds.

  • @zach0520 KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK !!!!!!!!!

  • @zach0520 exactly! i went holyfkinsht it's burt reynolds! where's dom delouise?

  • why did nobody ever get injured when thunderbird 1 took off through that swimming pool?

  • Best intro ever. Never cared about watching the actual show, but I'd always get up early to see the intro.

  • I hear that Tin-Tin and Alan were caught at it.

  • Sir Richard Branson is like 3/4 of the way to being a Tracy, lol (Virgin Air, Galactic, Oceanic.... what's next?! Virgin Subterranean?!)

  • I hear they're now in Libya, hunting down Gadaffi

  • @lucaboris God, politics. You can't escape it. Jeez.

  • My guess is that the rest of them didn't like John very much, so they built him a house in space so they wouldn't have to see him. poor guy thinks hes doing some good up there

  • @drummersam1 no one likes to talk about that one Christmas party...its just easier to keep him up in space

  • @drummersam1 your close to the truth. Gerry did not like John's head so he put him on thunderbird 5 in spite.

  • @drummersam1 he was the gay brother

  • @iceman971965 Oh come on, and how many of the others had girlfriends? I think he was the homophobic one.

  • @drummersam1 Gerry Anderson himself has said that John was the Thunderbird he liked least which is why he was sent to Thunderbird 5. He said he was very disapointed with teh way he looked, while voice actor Ray Barrett asked if he could be John's voice becuae he loved everything about him!

  • So, seven people to maintain all those ships and hardware? No wonder stuff kept blowing up!

  • Best show ever

  • To bad they aren't real, cause they would be needed at Japan's nuclear disaster right now

  • @keith4291 yes m`lady ;)

  • anyone else think Parker looks like Arsene Wenger or is it just me

  • good one!

  • @donnyab I've always thought Andrew Lloyd Webber...

  • One of the best shows of all time..pure genius

  • Im 13 years old and i watched thunderbirds when i was 1 to when i was 6, i didnt like the movie they made, there were no puppets :( i still have all the toys that my dad past down to me, some are very valuble (£££) my nan is just like lady penelopy XD i love this intro!!! My mum always liked captain scarlet.

  • Ow man kids really miss something today...

  • @barthoedemaker they really are. cartoons todays on tv are just crappy shit.

in my childhood we had Thunderbirds (yes, still THunderbirds around 1993) but also Batman Animated which also kicks ass!

  • @barthoedemaker they really are. cartoons todays on tv are just crappy shit.

in my childhood we had Thunderbirds (yes, still THunderbirds around 1993 it was still being broadcasted in Holland) but also Batman Animated which also kicks ass!

  • HUGE FLIPPIN SMILE ON MY FACE!

  • Question. "Why do the large-scale explosions look less convincing than the stringed puppets and Paper Mache sets?" jus thought i'd through that out there.

  • love this show all my life muah tin tin

  • I watched this when i was a kid but it seems very creepy nowdays :)

  • Gerry and Sylvia Anderson were really ahead of their time in terms of a show that marketed toys-- For god's sake, the show literally STARRED toys! And frankly, this did it much better than He-Man, GI Joe and all those other 80s cartoons.

  • I loved this show still do when I was little I actually went to a party dressed as Vergil lol

    Classic program :D

  • How can you dislike thunderbirds I mean come on its puppets and rockets and also it was around for the sixties and its the old shows that have stood the test of time not like the modern stuff. BTW I'm 20 my dad got me into these shows and I think theyy are brilliant

  • I loved it as a kid, I still love it everytime I watch it, just awesome.

  • On 0:29 Burt Reynolds haa haa haa

  • Que recuerdos!!

  • Wow. good times....Hang on! I still got that box set! gotta be going now . I'm going to watch Thunderbirds!

  • hum...when i was a child it looked much better xD

  • @wrathbarter86 Once I noticed that no one ever WALKED anywhere-- Everything was an elaborate system of moving furniture-- I could not UN-notice it. It was like the adventures of a band of paraplegics.

  • Im only 13 and i love this show! We have it on dvd!

  • At the risk of sounding like a forty- something old fart, I cannot believe that kids today can get such thrill out of current TV progs. I have two children. It was just so exciting watching these as a kid. ( though I thought Capt. Scarlet was cooler)

  • watched this and others like it when I was a kid, man, I miss watching these old things...

  • Amazing show!!

  • does anyone know how to play the bit from 0:14 to 0:32 on piano?

  • why are they all dressed like airline stewardesses?

  • SO MANY EXPLOSIONS!

  • Engineer Brains is Leonard Nimoy at 1:02

  • Scott and Virgil. I'll have both.Thanks.

  • Still brilliant!!!

  • The best opening titles of any kids show!!! still gets you 5 4 3 2 1 !!!!

  • At :27 it looks like Elvis. At :29.5 it looks like guest star Burt Reynolds.

  • @JetMechMA steve mcqueen at 0:23

  • Loved Thunderbirds as a kid, had the toys and Tracy Island. Gerry Anderson is the best.

  • Loved Thunderbirds as a kid, had the toys and Tracy Island. Gerry Anderson is the best. Thunderbirds and Stingray rule.

  • I managed to get all the Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's annimated series on A nd E dot com. I am 47 and these shows bring back so many memories as a kid. My daughters watch them all regularly with me ...2nd generation!! You can also find Space 1999 and my favorite U.F.O Happy Holidays!!

  • You really can't argue with an intro that ends in a completely unnecessary and pointless explosion ><

  • @pyroqwerty

dude are you dissin the explosion

  • @BrownironStudios Of course not! It's a well known fact that the awesomeness of an explosion in inversely proportional to its necessity.

  • Love it and the quality is excellent x

  • MANLY.

  • That was so fantastic!! As a kid, I was amaze to watch this show!

  • They should adopt that theme tune as the English National Anthem (including the 5,4,3,2,1, "Thunderbirds are go" and the explosions at the end) - they'd all be standing.

  • You can almost hear Space:1999's first season intro in there...

  • Wait a second...1:15 seconds of video and no huge explosion? That isn't like Gerry Anderson at all, I mean, Stingray has one within the first few sec-*BOOM*

    That's more like it!

  • ALL GERRY ANDERSON SERIES ARE THE DEFINITION OF EPICNESS :D

  • Great show, I used to watch this back in my country (Chile) in Spanish.LOL . Finally, my roomate (a guy on his 50's) told me the name in English

  • I miss this on tv :(

  • 4 people were not allowed on Tracy island.

  • @ApproachWithCaution I feel sorry for them...who knows, maybe they were banned from watching TV at the time, eh :P

  • This was so cool to watch as a kid. Still looks cool here!!

  • Wonderful show, beautiful striking music. Barry Gray was a great composer.

  • eww omg there scary and freaky o_o

  • This show was awesome. I loved this when I was a kid.

  • I keep wondering whether any of the Chilean miners hummed this tune on their way out.

  • @ParlyCharly Didn't you hear? How do you think they got out? The THUNDERBIRDS came to the rescue! and out-classed the local emergency response force so much so that they were left saying "WoooooooooooooW".

  • send them to CHILE... GO, GO, GO..

  • Despite being born in the 90's, my dad showed me this show when I was a kid and I truly enjoyed and loved it. This show proves that some great art is truly timeless. It has possibly the greatest intro out of any program, especially the theme tune.

  • back in the day when i was a kid i used to love this show so my mum brought me a 'tracy island' thunderbird set, i just looked thunderbirds up on wikipedia and apparently the thunderbird toys are hell good collectors items now but i cant find them i was like fuckkkk

  • This is so evocative of my childhood, this is the intro that I remember best though I gather there was an earlier version without the countdown? We recently had the Gate Design Group create a new series of TV ads with a thunderbirds theme.

  • I'm 14 and i still like this even now!

  • @LuddyB71 I'm 13 years old and I like this show as well!

  • I've always wanted to see a Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet team up, too bad it will probably never happen :(

  • children's tv today does not even come close to being called entertaining when compared to the magic of shows like this. Great theme tune too, Barry Gray and his orchestra made some stirring theme tunes. and this along with the Gary Miller Stingray themes were the best of the lot. I always preferred the end credits version of this theme tune, as it has that fantastic string section in the background. Epic stuff, TV magic that will never be surpassed, nor equalled IMO - great upload!

  • ohhh que de souvenirs :) merci :)

  • .. I had those toys...

  • @thewhulk We had them too :')

  • Why not 2 or 3 news season on old fashion like 1963 just news senario like colmating the BP incident.. or rescuing the landrover on mars ...and so on...Thanks for the best show on the planet.

  • classic...

  • Comment removed

  • I'd get goosebumps when listening to this theme tune. Still do.

  • @JFredUK - Same here. I loved this show as a kid. I still enjoy it - I have the DVDs for Thunderbirds & Stingray! This stuff is classic.

  • when I was kid, i woke every single morning at 7 o'clock to watch this. :)

    greetings from Serbia.

  • i remeber watching these when i was growing up i still do some times i always like the first part 5 4 3 2 1 THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO

  • THIS MAKES ME HORNY :L

  • 0:30... dear God it's Burt Reynolds!!!

  • BRITS AT OUR BEST LOOK AT THEM MACHINES BEFORE STAR WARS ETC BRILLIANT

  • Love it :3

I always find the explosion in the end useless though :p

  • Wow...the intro shocked me in as a youth!I watched the program every day.

  • @Merrida I always thought Thunderbird 4 fell into the sea by accident and that it would just sink uselessly

  • Thunderbirds is awesome!

I named my stealth bomber in Eve Online lady penelope.
