  • I do believe mickey, grech, spellely , gus ,and vince were the first OCCUPIERS.

  • I just noticed. This episode is making fun if capitalism :)

  • I just realized... TJ = young version of Harvey from EpicMealTime

  • Love this episode. It seems like something a fun teacher would show at school to give us an idea of how the money system works in America haha

  • #occupyrecess

  • This happened almost every week for a two years at my school. But we used donuts and real money. People made a good killing. The last time there was a big party, and they gave out free boxes of donuts. I grabbed three boxes and made 25 bucks! No one else did that.

  • This reminds me of the Silly Bandz craze, haha.

  • INFLATION

  • i'd love it if my old playground was like this, i'd be the recess mobster running and thieving stickers, would be soooo cooool.

  • 7:43 TOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha an introduction to modern capitalism

  • wow this show teaches some serious life lessons... Absolute power corrupts absolutely

  • 7:44 tommy pickles

  • This just goes to show that economics only works with what people put value on. Once people decide that something is worth nothing then they are screwed.

  • The transition from monstickers to the alien stamps is an example of Gresham's law.

  • Why would it matter if TJ gave Menlow one of his hats? In the episode "Good ol' TJ" when TJ opens his closet he has like four....

  • "Yoshi Trolls"

...Lol, and it came from a 90's cartoon xD

  • The drug Dealer.

  • It's not about card games obviously is about economics and capitalist ideals. He sold his soul and trademark (his hat) to go to the top and when he got it he got no friends left.

  • Why do they like never have backpacks?

  • this and the ajimbo episode are what pokemon cards were like in elementary school

  • @BloodBath707 I remember them, things got really bad at my school. until Yugioh came, That was really pushing it.

  • thats a monopoly he made. lol he owned everything hes a young rocafella or bill gates

  • Old man Kelso just likes to make things way more complicated for these kids...first the Ajimbo craze, now this?!

  • @iCandy510

The phrase "laughing all the way to the bank" springs to mind.

  • Capitalism.

  • "Here's 4 stickers, never say that again." What a pimp.

  • @Mistr XDXDXDXDXXDXDXD

  • The Ashleys at 5:13.... prime example of gold digging sluts in the making.

  • No he had the same hat as tj the red one

  • At 8:34 tj is playing tether ball but he is supposed to be at the door

  • @simmylove123 thats not tj its king bobs minion

  • @simmylove123 ha that's not TJ! that's one of those rules of the playground dudes. They wear sweaters and are the main characters in the king morty's game rules episode

  • The story of how TJ went from poor working class to a dirty capitalist exploiting workers. Did he truly learn the error of his ways? Does this episode adequately expose the boot-strap fallacy? It's an intriguing concept for a show like this, and really just a matter of time, seeing as the kids already live in an advanced political society that depends on homeostasis; they were bound to deal with economics, and what other system than capitalism for a monarchy?

  • This show.. brings back memories

  • TJ is a winner!

  • "scandalus"

"Here's 4 stickers, never say that again" LOL

  • This episode is brilliant

  • Two stickers!

  • hahaha!

"The kids are going ape on em"

  • I want to see this episode in italian...can is it possible? tnx

  • This episode had so much more meaning to it.

  • Economic solution: If prices are too high, then increase wages!

If TJ pays them more for their work, then they'll spend more on the slide, playing with the balls, etc. Actually, since no one is going on the slide and playing with balls anymore then they'll start doing so again! Anyway, the stickers that TJ gives in wages will be collected back in revenue. It's either that, they buy other stuff, or they make some other currency.

In the long run, everything is elastic.

  • T.J. Drank all of Menlo's milkshake. HE DRANK IT UP!

  • TJ HAD A SNAPBACK!

  • :O TJ stole a cap!

  • Dude if you get charged for going to school, I have a solution: JUST DON'T GO!

  • @Flint925 thats what i was thinking

  • Oooh scandoulous , here 4 stickers never say that again LOL

  • The kid at 7:54 sounds just like Tommy Pickles

  • TJ if they can charge for entering school then im pretty sure they can charge for water

  • actully........... THIS WHOLE EP MADE ME FALL OUT OF MY CHAIR! XD XD

  • BTW hahahahaha oooo scandeless heres 4 stickers never say that again LOL! fell out of my chair!

  • and wene i said OMG! that was corny....... anyway.... couldent TJ get coodys..... and Menlo is such as dork! LOL toodels?

  • after 2:16 stop directly at 2;17 and on the window it says ajimbo that game

  • @123amandeeps OMG! IT DOSE! LOL i remember that ep aaaaa the days

  • I would constantly wish that this would happen to my school back at middle school but sadly never did.. I'd imagine that there would become a currency at recess like in this episode but never did.. So instead i just keep this episode on repeat imagining it's me in TJ's shoes. >:D

  • as a business student, this has to be one of my favorite recess episodes! next to when Gus becomes a hustler kid

  • you would've thought that hustler kid would atleast make an appearance or show his face in THIS episode.

  • 5:01--5:12 Like a Boss

  • Amazing episode! rags-to-riches-to-rags.

Really shows the determination of T.J. ( however his determination to have a monopoly turned out to be his demise :P )

  • i guess they just have recess all day =/ fuck education lol

  • welcome to the world of fiat money; unlimited amount of a barter median, strictly by decree.

  • They should have establish a conversion rate from Alien Stamps to Mon Stickers, then you could trade against them on the FOREX markets.

  • Occupy Recess

  • @PaintballMask see, even the lower class can rise, there's always a ways out into the upper class (haha) excuses, excuses

  • this episode made me want to start a company.

  • 40 stickers just to sit on the grass?!!!!!!! That's ridiculous

  • The Ashleys:ooooooo scandalous!! 5:13

T.J.: Here's four stickers. Never say that again 5:16

    hahahahaha

  • ahhhh i always loved recess even when I was little. My sister and I would always watch it on saturday mornings and it never gets old. love all the episodes even this one

  • Lol @ " TJ never paid back Mikey" haha!

  • Comment removed

  • @hammer2350 actually that's an awsome buissness move. TJ pays the door guy 25 stickers and 1 sticker for every 2 he makes and that idiot kid gets only 2 a day, with roughly 500-600 kids moving through each day TJ is making about 250-300 stickers a day minus 27+kidsx. then he takes control of other industries using the kindagardners cheap labor. Then he took the balls for 300 and each ball (theirs about 60 of them) bring in 5-7 stickers a day.

  • 1:50 turn auto captions on if there not already and uve already watched to here b4 XD so funny what you tube thinks of music XD

  • that kid (7:47) is voice of tommy from rugrats.?

  • Vince: You know what, we don't want anything from you!(As Spinelli leaves with T.J.'s ball)

    FAIL!

  • @Montesama

Actually, T.J. paid all of the 25 stickers. If anything, he's practically losing 2 stickers a day.

I think he was buying "shares" on the door job and then gave out an unreasonable wage to a naive first grader.

  • All this recess banter going on haah

  • wouldnt he be able to sell them on ebay after words? then buy something cool and charge ppl to rent it? XD in any currency probably

  • I love how this episode takes capitalism and applies it to the local playground. Aw how corporate greed ruins the world.

  • LOL this episode reminds me of when pokemon cards came out when i was in elementary school...those shits ruled the playground..they were used as currency like in the episode...kids even started getting their pokemon cards stolen..it got so bad our principle banned them from school LOLOL

  • @Blade025 same here but we didn't use them as money we used them to trade. AH the 90s how I miss thee

  • @Blade025 We had the same problem at my school with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and pokemon cards.

  • @sailers08

Yeah but TJ got his own back on Menlo did you notice that little trick he did to get back his red hat?

  • tj never payed back mikey :(

  • @ImSinqing i know...he needs water god dam it! WATER!!

  • my best childhood cartoon probably..

  • buy them on ebay

  • Menlow has some nerve! And after T.J. went to his birthday party and got him a present too!

  • I laughed so hard this entire episde, love recess!!! xD

  • Yoshi trolls?

  • holy shit!

  • I really like this episode, its a really good argument for communism showing the inevitable problem with capitalism. Unfortunately capitalism is still the best system we've got.

  • @BAWK0 What the hell is the problem with you people and the word "kid'? I've never seen so many nutjobs spaz out over one word all over YouTube... you're treating the word "kid" like it's a derogatory remark like "midget", "nigger", "cracker", "chink", "wetback", whatever... get over it.

  • One of the best episodes of a cartoon ever. It really highlights the greed of society today. I'm not a communist, this goes way passed money. It's with power, friends, everyone always wants more and is never satisfied, It ends up with TJ losing his friends, his monstickers everything

  • Guess They Don't Known About Lice

  • who are those girls who say ''oooh, scandalous'' ?

  • @nikkismilesalot1 ashleys :P

  • @TheMnM36 THANK YOU! :*

  • @nikkismilesalot1 the ashleys

  • How Do The Kinder gardeners Get Into School....

  • did he turn into Pip from Great Expectations

  • @CardShark989 I wouldn't say Pip since Pip didn't exactly turn into an egomaniacle Gordon Gekko in Great Expectations.

  • Notice when TJ took on too much risk and didn't notice market trends, Principal Prickle didn't use other kids' sticker to bail him out to prevent him from failing...makes you think....

  • cool video

  • I'm 20 now but this show and Hey Arnold consumed my life.

  • T.J. Rockefeller lol

  • my favourite episode

  • "I'm the same old T.J, I'm just rich now!!!" Awe I love this show's lessons

  • Am I the only one who's noticed that TJ moans after some sentences? XD

  • Love Recess, I always wished I could've been like TJ in every episode. Such an awesome kid.

  • My Favorite Episode

  • I fought that menlo and tj where best friends before !

  • He should have start lending stickers when he had collected the capital of the school. Instead he wihheld it and it lost it's value. If he had the students in debt he would have assured the circulation of his stickers in order to pay him off. Even more, interst rates would increase the value of stickers every day!!! What a rocky mistake T-Jay!!! Observe the banks dude!!! :P

  • @pankar1986 awesome analysis but we only have 10 minutes

  • @pankar1986 "rocky mistake"

  • 8:22 is so funny

  • where are the teachers?

  • This show teaches so many life lessons but makes it enjoyable too!

  • i mam so mand

  • absolute power corrupts absolutely

  • I hate the way Mikey says "It's Mon-Stickers Teej" at 0:37

  • A spectre is haunting recess

  • Recess is the best

  • 3 stickers just to go into school?

  • @SAD33333333333333

Good reason to skip it :)

  • TJ reminds me of Daniel Plainview

  • "you wearing the hat has certainley lowerd its value." hahahahahaahaha

  • WHAT!! you have to pay to get into school....if i was in recess i would say they didnt let me in :D

  • TJ is a true hustler.

  • I like mem

  • What is this

  • Aww the 90s the days when cartoons actually taught you something!

  • HERES FOUR STICKERS NEVER SAY THAT AGAIN LOL

  • @Montesama why is he in fourth grade again? XD

  • Comment removed

  • TJ's Snapback is fresh!

  • Gotta love that child labor

  • 5:15- Golddiggers.

  • Damn, just when he got the suit

  • Weird how I didn't pick up on something so obvious when I watched this as a kid

  • T.J. should have kept the Mon Stickers and developed 2 different currencies. 3 Mon stickers for 1 Alien stamp!

  • "I'm busteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!"

    Thats capitalism for you.

  • tj went insane with power

    wow

  • dude that one kid sounds like Tommy from rugrats

  • Excellent quality.

  • This is what i call capitalism in action

  • why bother paying 2 stickers just to go to the basketball area if you dont even have a basketball

  • Brilliant episode! Thanks for sharing.

  • i love Vince easily lends TJ 5 stickers, but Mikey expects TJ to pay him back 1 sticker

  • why does water fly from the OJ at 7:04?!?!?!?

  • "Now what am I going to do?"

You could always play Ajimbo and shift the interest of the playground.

  • :| sign outside kelso's....its....AJIMMMBOOOO

  • AJIMBO on the store window

  • I miss cartoons like this that actually taught you something.

  • 3:01 Menlo made it rain on that ho.
