  • thats kinda dangerous considering the triangle counter but if ur fast it cud work pretty well i guess

  • @jas108 Got nothing to do with being fast.

  • just tried it and got triangled...might work on a rookie

  • @barringer6 I think it might work if you are way faster and better than your opponent, but it will not work with someone that knows how to attack for the triangle. I get guys all the time that try to defend the triangle by pressuring down like this and I usually get the reverse triangle or sit up for a half guard guillotine. Guillotine is very hard to defend when you are on your stomach.

Also, this will not work with a gi on. With a gi you have to be more careful and more technical with escapes.

  • @barringer6 Then you're doing it wrong.

  • won't fall in triagle

  • i think if its done quickly it cud be good il try it

  • Hey Chris, Dimitri here, heard you were out this way at the Body Shop, heard Hess got his Blk hope things are well with you

  • Your absolutely right cuzz63! When he passes his arm under and grabs his other hand he stops the triangle right there!!!

  • asking for trouble imo

  • I have been doing jits for a about 15 years and I have passed black belts with it.

Most people have never seen it

  • When I tried this pass what I did wrong was I didnt walk my hips back and bring my knee up. If you walk your hips back the triangle is a little less effective and if your leg is posted and your elbow and knee are connected it also slows the triangle. With that being said when you shoot the arm through you should squeeze tight and sprawl soon. Dont hesitate or he will fight his leg through your arm trapping it and catch you. My thoughts about it :)

  • @bearboy01 you know what you talking about my brother

  • I like this but its very risky and i wouldnt recommend for anyone short of a purple belt for not only the obvious reason of a triangle but the kimura as well

  • nice!

  • i tried this on my instructor the other day, and hes counter was he threw hes opposite leg over and controlled my hip, from there he made me his bitch. it worked on a a few white belts. im a blue, so my question is there any way to avoid that opposite leg coming over?

  • if you hold the leg properly as soon as he breaks the to go for the triangle when your body weight is on the bottom leg he cant hook the triangle up. You want them to go for the triangle here.

  • He is avoiding the triangle by keeping is head up and gripping is hands together thus preventing the guys right leg from hooking over the ankle. Looks like a good move on the face of it. Will try it tomorrow to see if the triangle is actually a problem.

  • I would get the triangle on anyone trying this pass, unless their insanely fast but then again so am I especially in a position like that for a triangle.

  • Seems obvious to me how he is avoiding the triangle.

Look at what he is doing and think about what you need to triangle someone.

  • how do you avoid the triangle?
