So tell me guys... What is a better guitar? Gibson or Epiphone?
I heard so many opinions I don't even know which one I want to buy.
Before my own guitar broke I had a Gibson, but I heard a lot of good positive recommendations about the epiphone guitars.. So some people got some tips what makes the hammer hit the nail for me?

@bladecrusher01 Well, almost everything wise, in my opinion, Gibson's sound much better. And it'll definitely last you a life time whereas the Epiphones, not so much. For their price, I'll say that they sound pretty neat. Just change the guts out and you'll get a pretty nice sounding guitar, though the total value of the guitar will go down substantially. Basically, you get what you paid for. As time goes, Gibson will get valued more
I own an Epiphone LP slash(velvet revolver logo) and changed everything on it.
Ive seen Gibsons fail near my korean epi..
The others...really not much of a differance, you need to check them on a 60 y0 fender amp to see IF theres any diff with mine. But ive picked mine through many guitars..
As for this guitar...Someone who plays with EMG's and full gain..dont need a great quality guitar, just good good electronics..
A jazz player or a blues player needs a good quality guitar..
@NickoLps Youre epi is good because you changed everything on it haha. For all I know it is a gibson with an epi headstock. That's not a good argument. And the style of music someone plays doesn't dictate the caliber of guitar someone "needs." I understand that some epis are going to be of good quality but that's because you a high price for them. It doesn't matter who you are a $500 epi will not compare to a $2000 gibson. It's as simple as have a plastic nut versus a bone nut (continued)
@lihill91 It can compare when you dont look the headstock name on it ;)
After all i make my guitars i know about wood grades and what makes a good or bad instrument..I have plenty of woods in master grades and a gibson that costs 5000 or 6000 euro in Greece...for me it doesnt deserve even the half of the price they demand.
Gibson's are the most overrated guitars available on the market right now, epiphones are cheap and good
@NickoLps $2000 for an electric guitar from an esteemed brand isn't pricey at all. An epi thats $600 with emg's doesn't sound too pleasing to me. Knock off $200 for the pickups themselves (most likely they are 81/85's which is what my Gibson has in it) and it's a cheap $400 guitar with subpar craftsmanship. And if you have a $7000 Gibson you'll be paying for fine details. Engraved tuning heads, headstock, etc. basically all the works on it.

@lihill91 I think he meant plug in a Gibson and an Epi in the same amp during a busy night at a gig and see if it really matters which guitar you have at that point.
@NickoLps I wouldn't pay that much for a guitar unless I had the money to throw around lol. I'm not trying to knock Epi I'm just trying to say that you can't knock Gibson for what they are and what they've done. I don't want to knock a fellow guitaris either. Ther are so few of us left out there who are true guitarists and truly have a passion for them and take pride in playing them.
@NickoLps or the grade of maple and/or mahogany used on the guitar. And putting the guitar through an amp speaker doesn't always project the guitars true sound. Try seeing what it sounds like on tape. It's all a simple matter of the difference in craftsmanship.
theres not THAAAT big of a difference between an Epiphone and a Gibson..i have this Epiphone..I actually chose it over the Gibson one.. cuz the only difference really noticable was THE PRICE... and yehhh that unpainted neck makes a shit load difference its great
ive never owned this guitar, but i played a friends today. it has an AMAZING feel with a neck thats easy to maneuver around and an absolutely epic tone. i wish i could afford one soooo bad
the sound is just awesome .. and if zakk plays epiphone ill start playing it :DDDDD haha too bad epiphone zakk wylde signatures are not in Thomann anymore -.- .. im not gonna buy Gibson .. its 2700euros more >.>
And this is why zakk is one of my favorite guitarists

@lihill91
When guitar players "play" in bars under the influence of beer or..whatever,the least they care about is the engraved tuning heads..
What you wanna pay 7k$ gibson, can make 500 pieces in a single day with all the factories and all the robotic machines they got.
When you will meet with a real guitar and you will plug a gibson and the real guitar to the same amp, same time i bet you will remember me.
Cant save the world...they make them cause they always find fools to sell them.
