You people like to make stuff up. US has 20 times the amount of handgun deaths and injuries that the next 22 industrialized countries combined. I was a psychologist in one of the largest detention centers in the country and I know that guns kill people. The NRA wants to flood US is guns and know that criminals get a hold of them. Guns should be regularly registered and owners licensed. What the NRA wants does not make us safer.

NY has the Sullivan Law to control who can carry a gun - to stop the thugs of the world in other words from having guns on the street. You need a license and a background check to carry a gun- what's so awful about that? Otherwise you give a gun to everyone? Yeah, that sounds smart!

In NYC you have to have a permit to even carry pepper spray. So, no don't give them to EVERYONE, just the people who pass the background check without having to show their life is in danger.
