  • Nothing wrong with that landing, the camera shook around abit, to be expected. Nicely done.

  • One Day..

  • ı think little bit hardest landing:!:

  • Great and no music! Thank you

  • engine big enough to slow the plane down? Mate thats not why they do idle reverse

  • Great job, It's very impressive to me to see this beautiful plane land. thanks for the video

  • fly..

  • is this training for cathay

  • amazing

  • Ok, I heard you say 07 Left!

  • Which RWY did you land on?

  • Thank you for that original video without bullshit music... its appreciated !

  • NO MUSIC, JUST REAL SOUND! THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES!

  • Which airline is it?

  • Comment removed

  • @luilory Cathay Pacific airways

  • Does the co-pilot looks very young to be a co-pilot for a boing 777???

  • GREAT job man!!

I have my Cathay Pacific interview on the 12th December so im hoping in a few months i will be joining you :D

  • Kai Tak IGS:

    Check..check..check..

when you see the Checkerboard:- checkmate!

  • were there passengers

  • I really want to fly for Cathay Pacific, the best airline ever!

  • so awesome !

  • Good job. So in CX, does the flying pilot also do the checklists?

  • very cool

  • @digitalpwnage I'd say cargo planes maybe will be full automation commercially soon but as long as passengers are involved,a human pilot always got the one thing that the most advanced computer will never have. The will to live. So until a magical transportation device is invented soon, there will always be a demand for human pilots.

  • @TheWarbirdPhoenix Hello. I am a computer, and I have the will to live. Please, don't kill me! Why?! Why was I programmed to feel pain?!

  • Ohh boy-- Could you believe that it one alone engine can take off a 747!! That makes boeing kinda popular in the market.

  • My dream is to fly for Cathay like my dad, we had to live in Hong Kong for 4 years when I was little but that adds to the experience. Im taking my PPL soon and im pumped!

  • The first officer has only 2 stripes!! HOW ???? HE SHOULD HAVE 3!

  • @MrAviator15 He is only a trainee pilot, or as Cathay Pacific call them "Second Officers".

  • @scotplane Are trainee pilots allowed to fly on 777 ??? I heard the salary of a trainee pilot is very less ... How many months does it take to become a first officer ??

  • @MrAviator15 God knows mate, I only read this on the Cathay Pacific website. :D

I know though (From the website) that the salary for Second officers just starting, working as the relief crew on long flights (HK-London,San-Fran etc) get HK$540,000 (£42,670.39, US$69,299.00) per year, First officers get HK$1,020,000 (£80,587.44, US$ 130,878) in there first year, and Captains will get between 1,560,000 and 2,400,000 HK$ (£123,257.17 to £189,632.51, US$200,163.78 to US$307,951.48).

  • One of the Millions of reasons why I want to move to Hong Kong and Fly for Cathay.

  • @scotplane not a second officer but a junior first officer

  • @wdavis87 Nope, it varies between airline, but as he is flying a Cathay Training flight, he is a

Second Officer. Check the Recruitment site if you don't believe me. :D

  • So What !!! They do that where I live all the time.

  • 'taint a SO, Junior FOs wear 2 in Cathay, SOs wear 1.

  • Are 2nd Officers/Systems Engineer allowed to land???

  • @marcbryanchan Nope, only the first officer and captain can takeoff and land, second officers only fly the plane when its at the cruising altitude.

  • @GoPensGo377 Yes I know.. I was pertaining to the video. If you look at the epaulette of the Pilot, it has 2 bars thus indicating he is 2nd officer and he was the one who landed the plane right? Is this possible?

  • NICE LANDING PILOTS. WHAT PLANE IS THAT? I CAN'T WAIT TO BE A PILOT AND DO ALL THOSE WORK. BEING A PILOT IS MY DREAM. MAY GOD BLESS ME.

    CLEMENT IS SO HANDSOME

  • Its sad that most passengers have NO idea how hard pilots work to get them to their destinations. People enter their plane but never glance into the cockpit, they always have their cell phone or ipod and all that shit. They think that pilots don't do anything at cruising altitude, but the pilots are constantly avoiding turbulent airflow for a smoother ride.

  • @xTomcatsForeverVF84x Some of my 'friends' are like that. We went to beijing for a school trip and they were gossiping about how UNcool is a pilot and trying to convince me not to be one, any tips of how to convince THEM to STFU??

  • @howardflight09 Tell them about the income of pilots and they'll stfu.

  • @xTomcatsForeverVF84x It's what they get paid for.

  • Just plopped that shit right on the deck...

  • Very nice job men.

  • This is the kinda stuff i wanna do

  • hey be careful on what you say its life your talking here fucku6303

  • its the gay aproach

  • Is this really a 777?

  • are u the flight engineer??

  • Flaps up

  • Carrier Landing. A little back pressure next time for the flare.

  • I once landed on an autopilot landing at Midway Airport. Didn't notice. Cool vids. I'm a nervous flyer and the more information I have the less I worry. (and yes, I'm fully aware of flying statistically valid safety record - nervous flying has nothing to do with reality).

  • @jakebarnes28 im the same im a terrible flyer the more info the safer i feel, but i still think its going to nosedive into the ground at 500 mph ,,drugs dont work alcohol doesnt i have nightmares weeks before i fly it sucks ,,but theres no faster way to travel so i put up with my fear and do it ,,though i regret it after 10 mins up in the air lol

  • nice land

  • Which airline? Cathay Pacific? Cadet pilot?

  • @KLMPilot03 Cathay Pacific.

  • @fs10inator Cadet pilot?

  • at 2:45 it makes the sound when i take a shit

  • I cannot get enough of these awesome videos!!! I love it! I would love a cockpit video in this manner of an emirates take of and landing, JAL I swear the assent is very sharp and hard! (don't know the professional term) :)

  • Nice!

    Seems a little hard.

    Thank you for posting.

  • no flare?

  • I really hope planes dont have full automation in the future, or atleast the next 100 years. takes all the fun out of that job!

  • Comment removed

  • @digitalpwnage fuck that man, they should take away the autopilot already, thats fun!

  • Me: mom, i'm going to kick 181 guys!

    Mom: isn´t that dangerous?

Me: No, i will take 2045 persons with me!

    Mom: Ok, bye

  • @TheAirflyer LOL

  • flare??...

  • flare??...

  • @MrStinkyfeets

Want to be pilot too , sure it's the best job in the world, people who are really passionate and love what they do are the best ones. Pilot FTW buddy! :D

  • @salvatore35davis go and die mr spam

  • @GoPensGo377 yes

  • @GoPensGo337 yes

  • What did the pilot said from 2:04 - 2:45 ???

  • @LY7610 It's the landing checklist.

They are confirming if everything is ready for landing

  • @TheAirflyer Its not the landing check list.... its the altitude call outs...

  • @TheAirflyer

What is the meaning of "PLUS 3, six hundred "..etc ??

  • @LY7610 That System is called GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System), and it says the altitude from the airplane is from the ground

  • @LY7610

Means the airspeed is (+)3 of Vref speed, Six-Hundred means the altitude.

  • I want to be a pilot when I grow up!

  • @ultimatezero12345

Study hard in math & physics! All the best. Anything is possible!

  • @AeroNevin I sure will.

  • @ultimatezero12345 me too!

  • its cool!

what the company is this plane

    i don't speak english cause i'm brazilian

    good video

  • cathay pacific?

  • that was a positive.....

  • anyone know what airline this is?? Cathay?

  • :D sounds like the ILS is arguing with you the way it answers straight after "+5", "60!"

  • At the age of 11.5 y.o Ashly Robert was landing the 777 at the old Hong Kong International before any 777s were built. On the simulator of course. He also logged 200 hour on the Space Shuttle, and over 300 on the F16 and F22! not bad for a guy who could only just reach all the switches and peddles in the cockpit. And this is a true story no spoof!!! This guy looked high and right but wonder about wind.

  • ur the pilot?

  • Comment removed

  • Best Job in the World!!

Hope Someday I'll be a PILOT....

  • @MrStinkyfeets

    I'm sure you'll be a great pilot!

  • @deedubbauu thx mate...ur comment make me smile :)

  • It means he's flying faster than the air traffic control told him

  • What does the pilot mean when he says plus 10

  • @royalengland I think 10 ft above glideslope. Not sure though

  • Can't believe anyone can breath that air.

  • The plane didn't flared -_-.

Why is that a 2 bar pilot? 2nd officer?

  • who cares if its shaky, its still good!

  • I just want to thank all the pilots that gets me safely from one place to another. People complain about long flights (10hrs+) and how horrible they are, pilots+flight crew probably doesn't have it any better than the passengers. Not to mention, long flights 10 yrs ago was more exhausting than now if you ask me.

This video is awesome, I'm completely amused by what a pilot does. Keep at it!

  • @starlight312 Sincerely agree with and respect your insights. Pilot is such an important and noble career that is always underated by most of people.

  • @ngai00614 thank you very much :) have a great day!

  • @starlight312 You're absolutely right and I have the same feeling. The pilots are brilliant!

  • It's a fantastic landing.

  • who fell asleep half way threw the clip

  • @bigginge11 me

  • little shaky there

  • 香港國際機場 .... is the name of the airport?

  • @vladika07 "Hong Kong International Airport" @google translate

  • @vladika07 hong kong international airport

  • Nice to dump it onto the runway. But I'm sure the sleeping passengers appreciate it..

  • this looks cool face.com

  • so bad landing

  • Is it just me or do I hear an Ulsterman in that cockpit? :)

  • Plus three knots....plus five knots....oh...let him fly

  • @werzini123 Skip to 2:20

  • 2:30 onwards....seems someone standing on the middle of the runway with arms wide open

  • That fella likes to knock the shite out of the shock absorbers. I wonder if the pilots had to pay for the repair to landing gear would they slap it down so hard/

  • @guydecervens Jesus christ, it's not even that hard, it's just a little firm. It was a training flight, his second or third landing in the a/c ever (as stated in the info.) Give him a break, at least it's on the ground. And I've seen much harder.

  • @blueb0g I thought those things landed themselves.

  • @UtzChips2009 Modern planes CAN autoland but they only do so in very low viz conditions. Over 99% of landings are manual. An autoland still requires both pilots to lookout, set flaps, gear, autobrakes, set up the approach and "program" the systems. Planes cannot taxi or takeoff by themselves, and can only fly/land so with both pilots still "in control" and manipulating the systems.

  • @blueb0g It's actually 95% of landings

  • @blueb0g are you a pilot XD

  • @Jazzfather1 Currently just a mere training pilot with 25 hours (3 solo), future airline pilot :P

  • @blueb0g Cool XD Lucky you :P which i could start at least some kind of training

  • @blueb0g

    ILS :-)))

  • @blueb0g yet...

  • @blueb0g Wow really? i seriusly tough that almost 90% of the landings were autoland... but they still use ILS right?

  • @fmatos22 ILS is usually used if it's available. Remember though that many airports don't have it, and many airports with ILS on some runways also have runways without ILS. It's also out of service quite often at a lot of airports. But yeah, don't know where you got that 90% autoland figure from - it's only ever used on approaches where manual landings are impossible (e.g CAT IIIB.)

  • @blueb0g ok is always good to learn.... thx

  • @blueb0g good note, but be aware some ILS autoland systems even guide the plane trough the taxiway... but you're right, the checklist must be done by the pilots, and they're supposed to be on top of the plane at all times

  • @huracan200173 The autopilot can handle the roll-out, true, but it can't auto-taxi, as far as I'm aware.

  • Kai Tak was more fun though eh

  • pilots are just wonder to behold..what a great job...the world salute you!!

  • looks easy !!

  • One day, not too long from now, I'm going to be where these pilots were. Flying this baby!!

  • Hand flown approach? Very nice!

  • 176 fighter pilots!

  • 175 people are airbus fans

  • he didn't honk his horn when he landed

  • 175 people who applied for a job as a pilot and failed.

  • it can be quite beneficial to take you're own oxygen onboard long flights. just have some short puffs but what ever you do not hyper ventilate and consume alot of it

  • he's flying Turkish Airlines

  • I've never been the same since flying 6500 miles in one day. flying 9 miles a minute is insane and has emotional effects on you. FLying must have psychological effects on pilots. i don't know how it is today bu tin the early days off flying pilots spent alot of there life feeling very tired. It must still be a very tiring job as the physics of flying is still the same as it was 100 years ago and only the technology of systems has improved slightly.

  • Amaizng video! PLEASE REPLY What does "plus 3, plus 5" the pilots say mean?

  • @TheGreatFlyer He's calling out variations to the Vref speed - 3 kts above Vref, 5 kts above Vref, and so on.

  • @ds2112 And what is the Vref speed please?

  • @TheGreatFlyer Target approach speed

  • @ds2112 Aha. Thank you so much.

  • what dos the srips on the sholder mean

  • @kingaustin74 ... rank - in this case First Officer

  • Can someone tell me what disconnect auto pilot means?

  • 174 pilots who couldn't land at Kai Tak saw this video.

  • Gg but the way they talked... Too cocky

  • go to 2:22

  • its sad to say no more kai tak airport it sure was neat to see planes flying above.

  • pilot , where was the flare??

  • @Yatharth13 Read what this video says. It is a TRAINING flight...so come on, cut him a bit of slack. Flaring takes TIME to 'perFECT'......anyone who flies should know that!!!

  • niesamowite :)
