An F6 tornado is not possible as there would be no way to distinguish F6 damage among the
F5 damage. Also, the 318 m/h winds recorded were measured some 300 yards above the ground, where it is believed the winds are much more powerful. And even if that doesn't mean anything, the wind measurement was made by determining the difference in air pressure between the inside of the tornado and the air.
I would have screamed to high heaven: "I'M GONNA DIE! I'M GONNA DIE!" yet it is truly rare to have it In Huntsville,Alabama. Well except Enterprise, poor poor people.
I wanna see an F-12 the highest in the F-scale with winds that reach the mach but thats kinda imposible but nobody knows what the nature can do tomorrow o.O
@JAAPJXBIT F-12??? I think you are confused, the highest tornado rating is an F-14 and believe me it ain't no purring little twin TF30 kitty. The wind speed can reach mach 2.34 at high altitude.
You guys are so retarded. 319 mph was the highest recorded wind in history that hit Bridgecreek, Oklahoma on May 3. 1999. You are acting like people whose job it is to record this stuff aren't doing a very good job. I was there May 3. I live in Oklahoma. It was the most vicious tornado in mankinds history. I am a meteorologist myself so don't be saying we don't know how to do our jobs.
There is no F6. F5 refers to winds greater than 319mph (I have to check for the exact number though)
And that is the reason why F5 obliterate everything in their paths. The only way to survive would be in a basement or a brick building. The highest wind ever recorded on eart was measured when a tem intercepted a tornado and had a doppler radar on board their vehicle. The doppler radar measure over 300mph winds.
Originally... The Fujita Scale ranged from F0 to F6. But there have been no tornadoes in history that have come close to breaking the F5 barrier... Except one... And that Tornado was the F5 Tornado that ripped through Oklahoma on May 3rd. 3 miles per hour short of it's F6 rating.
I wonder if there could possably ever be such a thing as an F6 tornado, if so, i surely wouldnt wish it upon any small town or anywere, if there was one, hopefully it would not hit anything but fields, but thats only wishful thinking.
hey, i was wrong lol. An F6 is an inconceivable tornado with possible winds of 319-379 mphs. lol thats enuff to rearrange ur furniture. they pretty much said that a meteorologist would not be able to determine if it was an F6. there may be an F6, but i would look similar to an F5. ground swirl patterns may be the only way of determining it

F-5 is the highest on the F-scale, where did you get F-12 from?

the scale may only go to F-5 but ..that dosent mean its impossible to have something off the scale..alot of things have gone off the scale or charts

Wasn't their an F6 tornado that touched down in Dallas? with winds of 350 mph

Yes

According to a meteorology book I have, there was once a tornado that was estimated to have had winds in it's core
reaching 500 mph.

350+ winds would be an F6 because winds are higher than 319 mph.... but in all actualality, the scale goes to F-12... here is the link to the scale:

With 350+ mph wind speeds (if it ever happened), I think they'd make an exception.
