Melee classes: Best suggestion, look by the fireplace, there's a Melee weapon, kill the Cat Lady, and hope she drops a dagger or sword. Good luck.

This quest is giving me a headache! It has a bug! When I get to the chest with my belongings... ther NOTHING inside and the quest just don't continue without I pick somethin in this chest!

I'm think about taking out all my belongings to my one of my house and, after that, going to Delphine at the stables (the begging of this part of the quest)... but I don't know if it will work...

I would also like to point out that this person skips over a few things that you can find including books and information that the Thalmor have that aren't directly related to the quest, but are very much related to your main quest, So I suggest looking around rather than skipping around like this person is doing, which in my personal opinion would just make the game boring in comparison to truly looking around the embassy. Most stuff is useless, but there is some nice info that enriches game.

this isn't the only way to do this quest. Personally talking to everyone helps out and you learn more info about what is going on in Skyrim and what kind of people you are dealing with. I actually am going to retry this quest on my game and get her sent to the dungeons by telling the truth and then see if I can rescue her when I get there for the main quest. Also, you can use the guy you came in with as a distraction by giving him a drink and asking him to return the favor by creating a scene

There's another way to create a distraction:get a drink and find the guy right next to the guard. Give him the drink and tell him to create an uproar. Done! :3

Informations here: You can actualy continue the quest by talking to the prisonner that is being interrogated, and by rushing upstairs after that, you can save your contact, like I did. You can also run like hell and avoid the troll if you're not confident in your fighting talents.

@bastje Did you give your armor to the contact in the bar? Otherwise you won't have anythng for this mission, not even potions.

@bastje I did the same thing.. there's a weapon at the food in the party-room. Use that until you've killed the guards in the first room after you've gotten alone. Just use the dagger or whatever it is you took from the party and your magic (if you have..) until you can grab some better stuff from the guards you're killing.

@YooMadBroo had the same thing. had to restart from the last save as close as possible to where you choose what to smuggle. tip: take all the armor and weapons you got

You can also have a chat to the bloke sitting on the bench for a quicker distraction, just talk to him and he will get you to get him a drink just do that and then ask him to make a scene.

Allow us to use their skulls as soccer balls, their spines as baseball bates, to tie them by their feet and hang them off ciffs, castrate them then nail them to trees, and burning them alive while they're eyes are abeing gouged out. @DeeDAsian Actually i had the same problem but after many tries i succeeded! So even if u r lvl 6 u should be able to complete the questbut try to enter in some kind of room so that they dont fight u togheter but separated and you will easily kill them 1 by 1

FIRST OF ALL: when you meet with MALBORNE IN SOLITUDE, you MUST give all of your weapons and armors to malborne, which will be given again by malborne to you in the CHEST GEAR, when you in THALMOR EMBASSY KITCHEN

I forgot to give him my weapons so i was wiithout armor and swords only my party cloths....so i killed silently a guard stole his armor etc and continued.To escape rom the troll i casted the etheral shout.BTW this is an awesome game :)

This mission was a pain in the ass for me because I didn't realize I was supposed to give Malborn all of my important equipment, so by the time I had to escape from the Embassy I was killed 12 times in less than an hour, fortunately I was able to kill one guard and steal his weapons and armor which was just enough to get me through the quest :)

If your stuff wasn't there , make a spell and destroy a thalmor warrior then take his armor , you can make the battleaxe or sword spell ( for 180 seconds ) then you finish your quest and your stuff is in Riverwood :)
