I have tremendous respect for the man! At the IMD OWP 2010 David Plouffe will share his insights on the historic Obama campaign while framing it in the context of how Obama's leadership is shaping the United States and the world today
We need Obama to do a series of unscripted, up close and personal interactions with real people - showing him relating to their genuine concerns ABOUT HIM and ABOUT what he will do - specifically - to bring change. We need to see Obama unplugged, with warmth and candor. Strong emphasis upon the warmth.
Thanks for a job well done. A year ago I bought Mr. Obama,s book, Audacity of Hope and I was hooked on the brain behind the book... But I cannot connect to him in the TV land. His speeches are great but he does not look at me. He sweeps his head from side to side but rarely at me.On his second leg of tour on this Please ask him to address us here in the TV land by just looking at us every now and then.
Mr plouffe . you must attack back. Kerry LOST because he didnt. it sucks that the republicans are so low and dirty, but you need to do it. the middle American doesnt think about politics that much. they just watch and dodder on. you should make a video on how ANGRY mccain is all the time . he is unfit to run anything with his volitile temper.
Thank you Mr. Plouffe. I've donated, and will continue to do so. I'm hoping that Senator Obama will not respond to the nonsense, especially this latest "swift boating" book. We need to stay positive and move on. Senator Obama's supporters no the deal and I don't wish to see the book get any more publicity than what Fox news has already given it.
As a supporter and donor of Mr. Obama, my family and I strongly believe that Senator Obama and his campaign should punch back the negative ads his opponent has been putting out there as quickly as possible, you all are doing a terrific job, we think you can hit them back hard!! Look back at the past democratic elections.
And Hillary Clinton will be the great choice for Mr. Obama's VP in order to win this election. Come on, listen to the voters, guys. Thank you for all your hard work.
i think that clinton would make a good choice but to much defending and baggage you can't take hillary without bill i think barack needs a new middle of the road democrat and david get word to the dnc that the dems have got to take a stand and not follow replublicans do not let them put this mess on us they have had the power for quite some time hammer home the chenney energy policy go strong they are do not let them turn this around , bush, chenney, minority leader there're the ones
You're welcome. Thank YOU David for all the brilliant work you and the rest Obama staff has done and will continue to do. The amount I contribute monthly may dwindle, but even if I only have $5.00 to spare, it's going to this campaign!
Thanks Mr. Plouffe, For running a proffessional, honorable, respectable campaign - unlike other candidates. I just created a video response (McSame: Celebrity Blowback) to point to the fact that in McCain's case - the emperor has no clothes!
If all voters looked at Senatorial voting record and if honesty is still a virtue, then Barack Obama will win by a landslide.
McCain is counting on us not Googling words like "Enron Loophole".
Well i Wanna Tell you I am not a citizen of the united states I am a citien of sweden in europe you know the home of the nobel prize.. Even though I dont live in the US i feel Barack obama is best for our country.. for the united states world Peace and the end of the War in iraq! god bless the united states
Many may say that citizens from foreign countries should not make comments about the 2 candidates. I disagree. Bush is bad for the US, and he's bad for the World Peace, and so is McCain, while Obama represents Hope for a more peaceful world.
Greetings from Norway, home of the Nobel Peace Prize.
big oil, and special interest energy types have usurped out government from us, and now we are more than willing to buy it back. co2 levels are causing millions of children to require asthma inhalers. clean energy alternatives are available now, but clowns like mccain, bush, and cheney work for big oil, not us. we need to get the greedy short sighted retards out of our government for the sake of our children. we just endured 7 years of failed energy policy, and look where we are now.
Speaking as a British citizen and one who unfortunately can't vote I would say this to ALL Obama supporters. Remain steadfast, be patient and don't allow yourself to be detracted from the bigger goal of President Barack Obama in the White House.
McCain only proved what he was and always will be, unfit to lead your great nation.
As a European we await the emergence of your once great nation. The polls don't take account of new voters but in November it will.
The Obama commericals are not strong enough. Obama has been slipping in the polls and I can only assume it's because people are stupid enough to believe the smear ads McCain has been making. You don't need to respond with a smear campaign when somebodys already said so many stupid things. "There's going to be other wars", or how about the hundred year war ? Obama needs to turn McCain's own words against him and show his strength and ability to defend himself, or we risk a repeat of 2004.
Can someone of the Capaign-people in charge tell us "non americans" how we can support you more than shouting out our support over media etc ...or visiting barrack´s outdoor speeks like in berlin . Is there a way how we can support that capaign in any way ? please let us know ! thx !
I'm waiting for the debates to start. Obama: We've been supporting you all along. You'd better crush McCain, or we will be very angry. You won't like us when we're angry. lol!
I will send more money this week! Thanks McCain. You have done us a favor. Barack is right -- we are going to fight this the Chicago way!! You pulled a knife - but we will be pulling out the big guns!!
After McCains "the one" commericial,i had enough.I donated $100 dollars, and my mom who was an avid clinton supporter donated $150 to obamas campaign becuase she's getting sick of this bullshit that McCain has been feeding us.
We should all donate $47 dollars on augest 4 to celebrate obamas 47th birthday
Youth was alienated from Obama because of privacy concerns and civil liberties.
When Obama voted for giving immunity to telecommuncation companies, he alienated all the Open-Source-Software community along with all young people who see their civil liberties threatened by the Bush administration.
We expected Obama to vote accordingly to protect our civil rights. This disappointment clearly shows in the polls.
Obama has to reassure Americans that he will fight to restore their civil liberties.
And your other choice is?........I think we need to get him elected before we can hold his feet to the fire. Compromise on the senate floor doesn't equal personal conviction. Another 4 years of Bush will not help this situation at ALL!
As soon as I saw the latest ad that John "the joker" McCain approved, I doubled my usual donation. Thank you for your work and for keeping us informed. Barack in our man!
I really had respect for him. just yesterday it vanished after the One add, even the celeb add I could forgive him, but this goes way too far. Go get him Obama!
John McCain and staff are just "hatin" on Barack. They try to ridicule Barack in their ad by calling him "The One." To me this could be misconstrued, as calling Barack an "Uppity Negro."
Why should Barack have to "humble" himself and display low, self-esteem,just to make McCain or any other man, feel better of himself? Barack does not have to lower his confidence to boost another man's ego.
only AMERICANS ARE ALLOWED TO DONATE to an US election campaigns, it is against US law to accept donations from foreigners. I too wish I could but am Canadian. One is not even allowed to give to an American friend for same purposse. They must swear the funds are their own.
I beg you to please to do something to counter these MCcain Ads. (you counter ad is not enough). You may in fact need to come up with very strong contrast ads. Ever since MCcain put his ads out, Obama is dropping in the polls. We cant have a repeat of the past 2 General elections. Not only that, Obama deserves to be the next president. Also, I am glad you are supporting off shore drilling now. I think that was also affecting the poll numbers.
McSame has been attacking Obama ENDLESSLY and since nothing seems to stick (Obama=Rubber, McSame=Glue), McSame has been getting frustrated (The last two senseless ad are proof) and now his own negativity is hurting HIM. EXACTLY! how it should be!! Let him drown in his own POISON!!!
Obama needs to be more aggressive, no one wins by playing defense the whole time. And McCain needs to stop all the 3rd grade jokes and do like his slogan says instead of putting Obama first.
Obama 08... please everybody get out of your houses and vote for him. he is what America needs right now. he even has a sense of humor ..lol unlike other PEOPLE who seem to take everything seriously.
You can all stop campaigning/donating money for/to Obama. McCain just GAVE Obama the election with McCain's "The One" add. Really, what was the McCain camp thinking?!?!?!!?
I miss Ronald Reagan (back when Republicans actually knew what they were doing), Heck I'd even take Bush-1 over McCain right now...
The thing about senator Obama and why his "inexperienced" position still qualifies him for the next United States president is that, well its Obvious... He doesn't play POLITICS! He doesn't care what John McLame says about him or what kind of Ads he shows on television because that, and i quote "Doesn't help a single thing" for us struggling americans, So you republicans and McLame supporters should realize that... ;)
Make this election be a referendum on the McCain-Bush policies. Please fight back. Those false emails about Obama being a Muslim should be countered with McCain = Bush and their alliance to stay the course. McCain and Bush is one and the same. This is an easy victory if you just keep up the McCain = Bush message. McCain can't hide from his embrace of the same failed policies of GWB. Dictate this fight, don't just react. Sometimes a good defense is a strong offense.
ok McCain is all for the same he really doesnt care for change..like all repubs. our country needs change and obama can bring it so it be just a dumb idea to elect McCain cause we need to change our ways that drive our countrys name into the ground
The constant negative attacks led me to donate to the Obama compaign at 11:30 last night. I'm so glad I was one of those many donors who believe in Obama and the change he can bring to our country
McCain is playing the high school drama queen. He is divisive, petty, and relentless. We need to expose his lies because he has not earned the trust of the American People, he's stolen it.
I donated to the campaign after seeing McCain's "Pump" ad, which childishly blamed the entire oil crisis on Obama.
I have never donated before, and McCain's ad was a fantastic motivator.
The ad either attests that McCain does not understand the oil market, or he believes the American public to be brainless. Either way, it makes for a very easy decision on election day.
Man, do i personally want to lay the serious 'smack down' on McCain. McCain has inspired to donate more money to the Obama campaign. McShame is a LOSER!
McCain appears to be quite firm in his anti-Obama position, but that's all I can really discover about him. All he stands for is "not Obama", which is not a stance that i want from a man who could lead this country.
Keep taking the high road...McCain's turn to Karl Rove tactics and swift boating is simply alienating the moderates that might have picked him. But...stop talking explicitly about Britney Spears in any context. "Oops, he did it again" was the right way to respond. Keep it at that level.
I still don't think you should waste your ad time addressing John McCain's tactics...just roll with Obama's policies on issues, NOT WHAT JOHN DID OR DOES...because I don't even want to see his name or face in Obama's ads!!!!
David...thank you so much for this message... by having so much 'access' to the campaign manager and an seeing an open/transparent discussion on strategy empowers the rest of us on the campaign feel included...thanks again...
And what's up with all those new attack ads coming out of McCain's campaign? It's like they release one every day now! First Paris and Britney comparisons, now Moses? Yikes.
yeah I contributed and it felt great!! hehehehe David if you see this or anyone for that matter I've been doing Barack impressions and just did a spoof rebuttal against John Mccain's 'photo op' comments :) its on my channel :)
i donated for the first time yesterday and i URGE you to DO WHAT YOU CAN to help elect Barack Obama the next President. whatever you can afford, just donate something. McCain and the 527's are spending a lot to distort and distract, but Obama is focused on the issues.
David Plouffe looks like he hadn't slept in a couple of weeks. but I guess that is the price to pay if you want to do a great job. and that is what these people have done.
At least you gave something and I'm sure Barack is very grateful for you donation. The important thing is that we continue to get the word out and educate people about the issues that matter to the American people. Even if you don't have much to give, you can play a vital role in helping Obama gain the White House by getting active and involved in the process! YES WE CAN!!!
8 years ago, McCain wasn't a terrible candidate. Now he has shown his true colors by making statements against Obama that he knows are not true as he says them. It is really a shame but we must not allow his negativity to overpower the positivity of Barack Obama.
You're welcome David and Barack. Keep running a clean campaign please.
Let's make Election Day into the significant historical event it needs to be-- Obama's election needs to be like Fourth of July and Bicentennial rolled into one.
I hope MSM plays this as often as they've played the McCain ads. Wish this could be a 2-minute TV ad, as is, in every market. Just sent in a contribution.
Hell, you can thank John McCain for my contribution. :-)
I've never donated to either party before, but McCain's misleading (and, frankly, pathetic) attacks the last week were the last straw. I deserve something more than being treated like a credulous idiot by a man who expects me to pay his salary for the next 4 years.
Though I doubt I would ever have voted for McCain, at least I used to respect him. Too bad ambition, fear and indolence had to reduce him to his current sad state. Shameful.
Obama isn't the best man for the job, but I think he's better than any other candidate right now. We need a President that has the eyes of the world so that the world can gain respect for Obama once again. I think the true visionaries that are truly different can then take us from Obama's footsteps to the world's best country once again. No 1 person is ever enough for something like this to happen. Obama isn't the change we've been waiting for, he's the first step towards that change.
You're welcome! Glad to be of service. John McCain should be ashamed of himself. Tell Barack to ignore the ignorant and not stoop to the level of the enemy. Praying for Barack in Pa.
all i can say is if mccain continue to attack obama, maybe obama should borrow a page from doug wilder's virginia governorship campaign counter attack tactice. maybe that will help, great video - keep possitive.

Obama needs to be more aggressive, no one wins by playing defense the whole time. And McCain needs to stop all the 3rd grade jokes and do like his slogan says instead of putting Obama first.
McCain -Country First(when its convenient)

It's too bad we Europeans are not allowed to contribute to the campaign. The choice of President in the USA affects us as well.

You can all stop campaigning/donating money for/to Obama. McCain just GAVE Obama the election with McCain's "The One" add. Really, what was the McCain camp thinking?!?!?!!?
I miss Ronald Reagan (back when Republicans actually knew what they were doing), Heck I'd even take Bush-1 over McCain right now...
darthsith001 3 years ago

**but we still are the best**

McShame is a LOSER!
myha16 3 years ago 2
Aye Aye.
McCain appears to be quite firm in his anti-Obama position, but that's all I can really discover about him. All he stands for is "not Obama", which is not a stance that i want from a man who could lead this country.
Gobama.

Keep taking the high road...McCain's turn to Karl Rove tactics and swift boating is simply alienating the moderates that might have picked him. But...stop talking explicitly about Britney Spears in any context. "Oops, he did it again" was the right way to respond. Keep it at that level.

No Thank You Mr. Plouffe. Keep up the great work. I missed the deadline, I'm sure a lot of us did who support you and Barack Obama.

8 years ago, McCain wasn't a terrible candidate. Now he has shown his true colors by making statements against Obama that he knows are not true as he says them. It is really a shame but we must not allow his negativity to overpower the positivity of Barack Obama.

January 20, 2009 = President Barack Obama
willowbarcelona 3 years ago 5
