When I did this quest, none of the handles worked properly. They did turn, but they did not activate the gates/bridges. So I had to disable them and TCL me through them. Really destroyed my immersion.

@techdeckh2o you have the plugin or dlc for that which is called kinghts of the nine. in anvil you will find a prophet and talk to him about pilgrimage. find the shrines follow the quest

it is just a silver longsword..you can get one by killing a guard
