i practice this for 4hours and haven't gotten it that fast!but i feel smooth!.but i just notice im not really using my shoulder it has to be that.thank alot man i wish u did the finger one u said!
I know this will sound STUPID, and very very very pathetic... but.... what if I follow this tutorial using a steel...umm... broomstick? Will it matter? I'm sure it will but I gotta ask ^^
What material is your bo? Im planning to make a bo-moves- tutorial too, but, I only have 2 Bo's, one is made o' wood and is very heavy, but i can control it,and the other one is so light my camera is not able to receive it very well
@TPRoach Well, now im searching for a boo that stretches, ya know, 3 parts that extend, i dont know if you may understand, but i cant explain very well
I've been doing martial arts for almost a year, i just graded for my next belt (passed :P) and began my staff training. My staffs made of burnt rattan (its some kind of special bamboo or something, not sure) and i cut it an inch taller then me (its supposed to be either slightly taller then you or slightly shorter, or anywhere in between). What I'm learning is very similar to this, the basic movements are almost the same.
ive been doin martial arts for 7 years and bo/jo staff for 5 and yeah this guy is the real deal...... also im disgning my own fighting style needs a name and its base on useing ur surroundings any ideas or questions reply
The using the elbow part was an excellent tip... i finally seem to get smoothness with it... after a week of starting off bumps on the head.
Prob is my bo staff is heavy and n on tapered... its a bloody metal curtain rod, stuffed wit wood. Thing need a lot of torquing of the body to move fast...
If i order an oak bo thru the net, the shipping almost costs US 100...
But again... the using the elbow part really helps... really good tips. TY TP.
dude youre so kewl ^_^ im really gonna take this vid into account when practicing with a staff, though just at the moment im focusing it on showmanship for a youtube series im making, please maybe make more staff handling videos? *like taking into account perhaps hoooow darth maul fights with a dual lightsaber that kinda handling =D*
i have been training in Aikido for 6 years now and we train using a Jo staff (shorter than the Bo staff) but the physics are still the same.......and i can say, this guy knows his stuff.....if u wanna learn how to do it right then watch this space
this is a realy good video it helped me a lot as a beginner !! I started to train taekwondo a year ago and now i wanted to train with some wapsons like a staff or a sword and such a tutorial video is realy helpful thanks :D^^
as a specialist in the bo in traditional kobudo, this is actually a pretty good depection of how to use a bo. very well done and very informative for beginners
