My man!!! You are the sh#t!!!! I love this song and always have for years! Youve got lots of flavor. Keep it up. Love the old school music!! After all,thats what all of hip hop samples.
@TheNaekid YES! GREAT WORK! Thanks to you I just learned how to play it! KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING! LOVE YOUR WORK! You have some serious soul and I love it! VERY TALENTED! Do you think you could learn Natelie Coles version of "When I Fall In Love", it's a faster version, it's not the slow version like her dads but has an upbeat to it. She is singing it on youtube posted by MegaDedicated. If you get a chance I would love to learn that one, but if not, still keep them coming!
Sweet dude! Not sure about the third chord though... it sounds different to me on the track... but I like your A7 better anyways. also: the intro: whoa
@TheNaekid With all due respect, sir, the third chord is an Amaj9--voiced LH: A, RH: G#, B, C#, E. You are correct with the A7 (b9), but only when going to the chorus, as in: "You re---"... It's the Amaj9 with it's uncharacteristic "majorness" (if you will) that makes the groove interesting by breaking the rules of theory, that is putting forth what the ear doesn't expect to hear, given the preceding two chords. Just before each chorus, our girl Patrice substitutes the harmony that the ear DOES
expect to hear - A7 (b9); (the b9 tone adding a bit of anticipatory tension) which allows the listener a bit of release (I believe music is pretty much all about tension and release) before the Dm9 chord.
@jftalmadge1978 Yep, I caught my error a little after I made the video and put the correction in the description. I should make an annotation to the video actually, so thanks for reminding me to do that haha.

@Ch051
yep you are right, the third chord is an A maj (I think the correct voicing is E - G# - B - C#)
thanks for watching!

@jftalmadge1978 And I 100% agree- music (i'd even extend that to all art) is at its root about tension and release.
