  • i used to think this one was so damn hard lol now im adding beats and spins etc but it all started here ty

  • This video helped build my foundation for integrating Atomic planes into moves without tangling, and hitting myself. Thank you.

  • I just started with my glow poi and i must say your videos are really helpfull even though i still have some difficulty im sure ill improve as your videos come out i cant wait to learn more tricks as you come out with them thank you for the wonderfull and informative videos!

  • I learned this in 2 days.... nemesis?

  • got it in about 15 min. still sloppy but i got it. excellent vid.

  • well is nice trick but i dont know then how many levels is after expert...

  • Comment removed

  • @MrCamille71 you pretty much have to just create ways to link tricks once you've learned a great deal of "expert tricks"... or just add beats to any trick - like a 5 or 7 beat atomic weave. linking two specific tricks is always my biggest challenge once i learn a new one. there's a guy on youtube that does a 16 beat fountain!

  • it's simply the 3 beat weave where 3rd beat is done in horizontal dimesion. looks boring, sorry man, but gotta tell this. atomic weave is completly different thing. there is something called right and wrong, no matter what you want to believe - you are doing it wrong. nice collection of videos though.

  • @drgryz This is a three beat weave where ALL three of the right hand beats are done on a horizontal plane. Watch the vid again nuber. And this is EXACTLY the atomic weave. Looks like an atom doesn't it? Split time butterfly two beat extended weave is sometimes called atomic but THAT is the wrong name.

  • thumbs up for shpongle.

  • i've got something thats a bit like this but i'm not sure if its right or not :/

  • Geez, you guys are no fun.... try loosening up a little, it's poi. And that makes it actually fun! This almost makes it seem like water aerobics for old people.

  • Third day of spinning and got this move down every time in 45 minutes! This video is helpful for the theory, as long as you take the time to listen to him and understand it.

  • look at Mr. Bad-ass with his popped collar. but good job.

  • nice background musik :) i love shpongle!!!

  • n_n thanx

  • Wow that is confusing...must practice! great stuff, thanks

  • geez... im going crazy with this one....

  • ibshhuhwtf???!!!!!

  • Thank you soooooooo much. I was epik fail at this b4 i saw your video. It took about an hour and i totally feel it now. It occasionally slips back into a normal 3-beat weave tho because my plane control on my right hand is still noobish but yeah. 10/10 on your video. Rated and subscribed!

  • i would hit myself in the face soo many damn times lol looks to hard.

  • Oddly enough, this actually looks like one of the first things I learned when I was taught poi. I was taught by someone who knew folks connected to the rave scene and didn't know a whole lot of other moves. XD Took a while, but it's doable. I still don't know a lot of beginner moves.

  • It's far from easy.

  • Holy crap, I've never even seen this move before.

  • playing shpongle in the background thats awesome.

  • haha my thoughts exactly

  • ey man congrats from mexico very good move

  • Whoa! Gotta go try this with my glowstrings!

  • There is no such thing as right and wrong. An atomic weave is a three beat weave in which the planes are offset by 90 degrees. Angle of plane does not matter. Just because other people teach it another way, does not mean they are more correct. Turn your head to the side and the move is identical. To be honest, i prefer the way this version looks, it's much more obvious that it's atomic.

  • i can see what your talking about now.... although, i cant do this version no matter how hard i try, but woolsey's vid is a lot easier. no doubt not as prominent as this one though

  • totally agree! I'm teaching a few novice spinners now & I'm so rusty from years of not practicing regularly, that I'm getting my rhythm back while I show them & it's amazing how so many people are hung up on "right & wrong" ways to do things, the way I look at it, if you're being safe, & having fun, who cares about right & wrong? Nice video BTW =)

  • And that is the true truth...

  • @nickcannpoi damn right, its called creativity and the art off poi oh wait, ART haha meaning there are no rules. i was wondering, i did a fire poi/ breathing show in NJ and i developed what i called the hellecopter. it's a butterfly but over your head. you gotta spin the hell out of them to keep the plain flat and take many face hits but it looks cool

  • then man good help

  • omfg i got it first time just because of your tute!! NNNNIIIIIICCCCCCEEEEEEEEE

  • great tutorial man!!! thanks!!

  • Dannng that looks sickkkk.

One day, one day I'll be able to move onto this trick =]

Your tuturials are sooo good they help so so so much.

    thanks a lot yo. =]

  • Can you do this with glowsticks too?

  • sure. but some people dont like doing it cuz the planes are upwards so it can make it look as if u arent spinning ur planes right

  • yeah thats what people tell me when i do it so i just do a normal weave and a corkscrew

  • FUCK THIS TRICK i cant get it no matter how hard i try

  • Genius

  • Finally a good enough tutorial for this move

    Great Vid!

  • how would i do this in reverse??? i can do the forward perfectly forwards both ways but ive been trying for weeks to try to figure out the reverse.....any feedback?

  • I suppose you could just have it go LLR with right hand and UUO with the left but that depends on which hand you have horizontal to begin with.

  • mmm, Shpongle.

  • just practice his pairs by themselves and then start stringing them together. It was a lot easier than it looks.

  • You're so good. You're too good. You're awesome. Man I wish I were like you.

  • Then how about trying a hybridized atomic weave?

or try to get it clean because if it took you 5 min to learn i bets its sloppy as a college girl.

oh ya, thumbs down for you

  • ^^ for saint 7412369^^^

  • This move defies the laws of awesomeness.

  • Shpongle.....

  • nice tutorial dude

  • Great tutorial it helped a lot, tryng to adapting this to nunchaku has been hard... Anyone know of any videos that show a chucker doing this well? Mines still pretty dodgy atm :P

  • Wow. Gotta learn this one.

  • Yo!

  • thnxs man!...i figured it out since i got frusturated i started doing 3bts then turned one hand into a corkscrew and it came out...:)

  • What is poi?

  • poi is basicly a weight on the end of a piece of string or chain. all poi looks different and have different names for example ribbon poi, sock poi, fire poi, meteor poi, the list goes on, but all are basicly a weight on a length of chain which is used for tricks and colorful designs if using a camera with a long shutter exposure, have a search about 'fire poi' on here gives a good few videos, but if you just want information i suggest wikipedia :) hope this helped.

  • been spinning a few years great vid. i had seen this move b4 but never knew how to do it. after watching the vid picked it up in 30 min. :)

  • i have a question, can you make a vid from behind/first person, so that i can see how im supposed to have my hands?

  • Hey, great tutorials! I watch them over and over! ;) May I make a tutorial request?

  • I've only been spinning about a month but I accidently just learned the reverse 3beat atomic when I messed up on a reverse weave. I yanked the right hand from left to right across early so that it went right in front of my face and into a floorplane. Seems to work and is a smooth transition.

Having trouble with this forward version though.

  • What do you define as a atomic weave? Curious....

I mean, now your right hand is playing horizontal but is it still a atomic weave if you play both of your poi in vertical planes but in a 90° angle to eachother?

I must say that you do some sweet spinning :P

  • Thank you!

You're absolutely right, as long as the planes are 90 degrees apart, it doesnt matter which angles they are on. i personally like the horizontal and vertical because of how easy it is for an audience to notice the difference. The great thing about atomics is they look completely different depending on which way your facing too.

  • @nevisoul isnt the atomic weave vertical and horizontal

  • what is this that your doing what is poi?

  • Very informative video! Poi is very calming and gives you peace in mind. /poipoy sweden

  • Obviously the Maori culture didn't invent this for highly skilled displays to amuse the tousists. Think 梢子棍, shōshikon, "Boatman's staff", nunchucks.

Would you want to face a very angry man spinning a rock or two inside a sling in each hand like this?

  • Thank you, your tutorial really help me a lot =P! Greetings from Venezuela.

  • I think what might have been a good idea for this one as it is so complicated would've been to use different colour socks... Would've helped understand the pattern, figure out which sock is which, what it does and what hand it is controlled by.

But very good breaking down of the figure...

  • 5bt atomic weave should most definitely be possible. The fact of the matter would be keeping both planes distinct enough so that they dont mesh entirely.

  • I know 5 is real, the 4 was a typo.

  • I'd like to see a clean 5bt atomic weave. I've been playing around with this one, but everytime I go to cross, the atomics clash.

  • youve got me thinking about this and ive been trying it today, i think its a case of where the extra beats go, but i think its definately possible. Will keep trying!

  • For the 5th, you need to use your wrists to move it around your arms. but try and keep your left (vertical) arm straight and have your hands wrap around your other wrist.

  • Video LatexFrog, lol.

I think I skirt in and out of what a 5bt atomic weave would be in my atomic videos, but its not clean or stable.

  • I don't got a camera =P

  • BOOO!!! Well then, I'll keep attempting this.

  • I also would like to point out, there is a 7-beat atomic weave... once i get a camera I'll make a video of 5 and 7...

  • I wonder how skewed the planes get. I can't wait to see it.

  • the atomic weave can be done with up to 4 spins total

  • How do you mean? how many spins per hand? This is 3 spins per hand and i know 5 is possible, but im confused about 4.....

  • If the left poi moves vertical, and the right poi moves horizontal, your right hand will go under, over, under, and then over the other hand. While the left poi spins twice on both sides. But, while the left hand is crossed, the second, above spin, is timed to just miss the other poi, because they are moving in a path that will hit.

  • do one of your hands like a 5 beat and one like a three. turns out 4 beat(yes both sides :p)

  • Nice

    =]

  • oh god...I can do corscreq in one hand and fw weave in one hand, but I can't twist one over the other :S

  • this messes with my brain. i love it.

  • great tutorials, awesome work!!. They will be very helpfull for many poiers :D

  • nice
