@mrearlygold I also felt the sentence was a bit extreme, and there were experts' testimony that created a lot of reasonable doubt during the trial. If I were on that jury, it would have been difficult to issue that verdict, personally. There was a lot of things, like the blood spatter that should have been on Spector's clothing, that wasn't there. Sure, he is nutty as a fruitcake, but they pretty much gave him a death sentence, his health is not good, I don't expect him to make it in there.

What then would be happening is Phil would be making a real effort at ending his addiction to alcohol by doing the steps, and then Phil could be living his life as the elder statesman of Rock and Roll where he belongs.

But, of course his attorney's chose a different path to take and we are where we are. Or Phil, in his twilight years is living within a literal nightmare world, and unless real justice is found, will be there probably the rest of his life and I think that sucks.

18 years for this is such a travesty. Surely it was an accident and surely had Phil Spectors attorney's had any integrity at all a deal would have been struck. Didn't Phil say the DA offered him 8 years?

Considering the circumstances and his age, he would in all likelyhood do 2-2 1/2 years MAX on an 8 year sentence. In other words he'd be seeing light at the end of the tunnel by now and by the end of this year would be out on parole. A semi-free man. What then?

Phil Spector had a history of pulling guns on people, one of them was John Lennon. This time he went too far, and a nice lady got killed. With all his money he was able to get the trial delayed and was not convicted till six years had passed since her death. Now he can just rot in jail.
