in 1972 many countries signed the Biological and toxins convenction so this original film criticizes the the governent at the time and fear of biological warfare. The remake released in 2010 comes at a time where society is afraid of biological warfare due to the name of primary suspect of the anthrax attacks being released in 2008 and news beginning to run stories on the attacks again

I can see that the movie of 1973 was a critic to the power of the goverment and the idea of the remake was totally diferent turned the original idea in a movie of horror.

Conclusion: "The movie of 1973 wasn't a horror film as the 2010 film"

I think this is a classic, but the remake is more realistic and focuses on the people, so you yourself don't know what's going to happen or even happening at the moment, and I thought the acting was pretty good too. There are really shitty actors nowadays but they were pretty good.

I like the original. IMHO, this trailer doesn't do it credit. I can also understand people who don't like this genre; however, if I'm going to be a critic or aficionado of the horror genre at all and especially of this time period in particular, I feel I should enjoy it, if even only for the film study. Even if the actors weren't the best, some of the angels were amazing. Of course, then again it also had banjo music.

This film is a top notch! George Romero at his best!!!! I'd prefer this 10x than the original! Just remember people this was a 1973 movie. Don't expect 3D or such...

@vixen1216 well first I think you mean you prefer this this 10x than the remake (me too), and second I think Romero's best was Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, just cause they are really like classic zombie movies, but just my opinion.
