Pizza Hut tastes terrible now. It began sucking sometime around 1997 or so. They either changed the recipe, got cheaper ingredients, or changed the cooking method, but whatever it is, it's complete crap now.

THIS WAS BY FAR TO ABSOLUTE BEST PIZZA THAT PIZZA HUT EVER HAD. NO PIZZA CHAIN IN THE U.S. COULD TOP THIS THEN AND NOW! I AM STUNNED THAT PIZZA HUT DISCONTINUED THE PRIAZZO. I have never had better pizza than the Priazzo Portofino - I used to get it every week when I got paid at Burger King in Oldsmar,Fl, during the spring of 1987!

I, too, loved this "pizza" and if it was "selling like hotcakes", then why did they stop making them? I always thought that it was because it was only popular for a short time but reading all these comments, I'm not so sure anymore. Yes, I wish they would bring it back and if there was email in '85 as we know it today and if they could have read comments like these, maybe Pizza Hut would never have discontinued it.

@Yakantheterek I think they did away with it because it was time consuming to make and required special equipment.  There was a heat-sink they put into the pizza to help it cook. I wish they would bring it back too! Great childhood memories.

@Yakantheterek too time consuming to make especially during a busy period. if you ordered one,expect to wait 60-90 minutes. I know, i worked there then.

Holy shit! I used to love the priazzo! My obesely fat friend and I ate one back in 85, and we could barely walk back home. Can't say that about a lot of the so called deals they have on pizza today!

Why the hell did they ever stop having this? I used to love it! They stopped having it where I live a year or so after it was introduced, but maybe about a year after that I had it when my family and I were in Virginia for vacation.
