Yes, bearded dragons need a mate.

the male would love 2 females because he's "active" and if it's only one female she could get stressed by his advances.

14 eggs isn't much as my own bearded dragon layed 26 (!!) eggs, but the record is well in the 50's.

the eggs are much like snake eggs with a leathery scale at first but it hardens overtime. the first 24 hours are crucial if you are planning to hatch them yourself (recomended aswell as they eat their young as a snack).

That's an interesting question, mine did for the first time this year, she's 4 y/o. I don't remember seeing them getting 'busy' in prior years, however this year they did.
