great vid - good for the hu kids. not surprised burks crapped his pants. he comes from a long line of the same leadership. it wasn't that long ago that they even let blacks into the school...10 whole years after brown vs. board of ed, actually. specifically, it was dr. benson that blocked it. ahhh, "christian" indoctrination...errrr, "education" ;)
He was backing up Claptonon his world tour and I prefered them to Clapton they gave a much better show and interacted with the crowd the only thing Clapton said to his audience was "thanks" and he didnt even do an encore this band rocks.
Kinda reminds me of the Preservational Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans played a concert at Harding back in my day ... and Jimmy Carr and Ray Muncy and a number of other faculty members joined in a conga line up and down the aisles as that grand old Dixieland band played "When the Saints Go Marchin' In" .... - Keith Brenton
Okay...so explain to me again WHY Robert Randolph & The Family Band can play at Harding....but a band like Jars of Clay or Caedmon's Call would not be allowed on campus. Odd? I think so.
At 'Our Dearest FHU' they would never have asked RRATFB to come play. Shame on FHU. It looks like Harding has it right for once. Dance it up kids, dance dance dance. Thank GOD you people are thinking for yourselves.
i was sitting next to dr.burks - you should've seen him freaking out!!!! this was an awesome show!!! one of the best Harding has ever had, believe me - I've lived here in Searcy for 30 years! They need more shows like this one! WAY TO GO HARDING!!! (never thought I'd say that)
There were a few deans in the audience and a few other high ranking Harding faculty members. Everyone of them was cool until Dr. B got up and found the first CAB member he could and told her to get people off the stage and call security... He was pissed... It's a good thing he didn't close the whole concert down.. and he could have down that. He's shut down chapel speakers before.
Actually, she was a volunteer.. most of us were volunteers, unless we were working on the Benson House Management Team. The Girl in the Cab shirt on stage "breaking it down" is not a member of the cab, she was just doing a favor for a friend... She's quite a sweet person, actually.

Ha. Man, I love watching the CAB girl break it down... I wonder if she's still in the program. Dr. B was right offstage.
