  • IS THAT ANGELES RANGE?

  • Dood... dont ever shave your stash Dood... I would never recognize you

  • and the air bullets hit??????????????????

  • again. pictures or it didn't happen. im tired of watching double tap and "fast firing videos where no one shows the target before and after. pointless to me. anyone can double tap. it takes skill to make them count.

  • Comment removed

  • @tokentreez thanks for the comment!!

check out my Mozambique drill video on my channel :) it shows the target before and after.

i also shoot tons of uspsa matches every weekend. you can find some of my match videos on my channel and my favorites.. take a look it not so hard to shoot doubles accurately :) just takes some bit of practice

  • in france your not allowed to have a weapon lol no one has a weapon exept hunters

  • @ionlyblade yes you are. French laws are pretty relaxed with my country, Portugal. Before the EU started bitching about guns, I think the french were allowed to posses full auto guns before 1995, but I'm not sure.

  • Don't know why this video has so many negative ratings. The gun control was perfect, he was following range rules (if it's the same as the range I go to, you're only allowed two taps at most, so as not to simulate fully automatic fire and to be responsible and somewhat on target), and was not looking into the camera while shooting. Some people.

  • @HPG45 some people just don't know how to have fun :)

thanks for your comments. if you digg this type of videos check out my other videos I've dove deep into uspsa shooting in the last couple of years, i post my match videos as often as i can. cheers!

  • @HPG45

Well the thing is...Everyone is an expert and knows more than you do. (sarcasm)

  • @FieldBoy111 Can't top a couch commando after all.

  • Tap tap revolution

  • Awsome shooting.

  • i wanted to see the target ><

  • @appletreecone Check out some of my other vids the Mozambique drill one is cool :)

  • @losart3d cheers bud ! :D

  • dont ever double tap an m1 garand with out knowing it

  • A proper double tap is firing the weapon, allowing gravity to return the barrel of the gun to the spot in which you just aimed and accurately firing off another shot. Speed comes with it in time, but is not a necessity [at first] .

    Cheers, Mate!

    - Brent

  • @bretona thanks for the comment Brent :)

Check out my Mozambique video if you get the chance. In my opinion the key to rapid shooting is letting not gravity return the gun to your natural point of aim, it is the combination of mastering the timing of the gun along with developing the ability to track the sights through out recoil of the gun.

This skills allow you to shoot as fast as you can see.

Anyway that's the way I look at it :)

    Cheers ,

    Los

  • @bretona When I double tap I am actually pulling downard keeping the muzzle up via recoil. I think this could be a matter of how I visualize it, but "springy" wrists is where I feel the focus. I think the 1911 is easier for me to shoot double tapping than single shots.

  • I can't double tap my 1911 -_-

  • just messing with u man, no hard feelings ok. =)

  • @dc5ssking

Non what so ever brother :D

    keep rocking :)

  • gay fool

  • @dc5ssking lol nice :D

  • @dc5ssking i would bet you cant do better.

  • he missed all, hahahaha

  • @dc5ssking lol player hater :P

  • 6 mag???? i thought they were 8.

  • @MegaGuitarmaster101 8 is right my friend turn the camera on half way through shooting :)

  • OMG you are so fucking cool

  • yeah the van nuys target range is indoor. its great. oak tree is great too.

  • is that at the oak tree shooting range? Ive been there a million times its pretty good. You should try the target range in van nuys. its a great place.

  • @MegaGuitarmaster101

this is was at the Angeles shooting range in Sylmar.

I've never been to oak tree but it looking at the site it looks like a nice range.

i might go check it out next i have some time off :D

is the target range at van nuys indoor??

  • Solid DT's

  • Yeah it's the loaded model..

Duel tone with novack sights :)

Bought it about 5 years ago at turners for 650 bucks.

    It was my first 1911.

Great gun it still shoots like a champ :D

  • Is that a Springfield armory black stainless model? And does it have the novak sights?

  • yes baby.

  • I agree, double tap" is "controlled pair" two well aimed shoots one right after another.

Takes alot of trigger time to get to the point where your putting both shots within a couple inches of eachother with a controled pair, takes alot of trigger control and a very good sight picture. First you get accurate and get all the functions down and speed comes last.

If you hit the target with both shots then very nice shooting, if not still good but slow it down a bit and wait for the speed to come.

  • what a worthless feature.

  • lol! are you always this uptight?

  • If I'm reading his comment right, Nexus Kid actually thinks you're firing a select fire 1911!

Hahahahah, he thinks you're firing two shot bursts with one pull of the trigger.

Nice handling of that gun, by the way, man.

Is that one of those Chip McCormick mags?

  • BTW...nice vid...nice piece...nice control...nice double taps...usually ppl confuse "double tap" with "controlled pair"...A+ BROTHER!!

    ~MDZ of RedZonE

  • a double tap IS a controlled pair. Pretty much how his uncle scottie taught him. To fire the second shot without aquiring a sight picture is called a hammer fire. Not to be confused with double tap or controlled pair.

  • Excellent control.

  • Very good shooting, thanks for posting. Also sweet gun.

  • I have a question regarding the 1911 style pistol. I was told that the proper way to grip a 1911 is with the strong hand thumb resting on top of the thumb safety. I am finding that really uncomfortable so i have switched to the thumb under safety. Here's my issue, i was told from fellow shooters that if i grip the 1911 like that i could accidentally hit the safety on which could be fatal in some situations (self defense). Any advice or is a 1911 just not for me?

  • I've been shooting my 1911 with thumb under saftey.....no probs so far. I can see having probs if you have an extended thumb safety. If you have shot a 1911 and like it, then by all means get it. I don't know about the whole SD part since I didn't buy mine for it in the first place. This is my first pistol and first 1911 and I'm gald I bought it, nice and slim and fits easily in my hand.

  • i my self do keep my shooting hand's thumb on top of the safety, the reason i do it is because of the way i learned to draw.

do i think there is a chance that you will accidentally bump and engage the safety in the middle of shooting? no i don't think you will, i think you are more like not to disengage the safety at all if your going from holster to target.

just so you know i don't do this for a living, so i by no means an expert.

  • thanks for the info!

  • it depends on comfort...i just bought a kimber pro carry and love it..i shoot thumb under safety when i draw...but im used to drawing glocks from IWB so i guess it depends on what ur "used" to...i found the kimber to be niccee n smoootthhhh and the chance of u engaging the safety is SLIM if you have a good grip on the handle...i too am no expert...just a gun lover and i carry all day so i try to practice drawing as much as i can...jus tryin to get used to the transition from glock to 1911

  • Check Brownells (gun parts website), man.

You can order a catalog full of parts for ONLY the 1911.

In there is an extended 1911 thumb safety, that has the lever near the BOTTOM of the safety.

I thought it was a neat feature, but I've got huge hands and have no problem gripping the gun in this way.

You should check it out, though.

  • @dirtyminded604 just shoot it like a normal pistol.

  • @MegaGuitarmaster101 Theres many ways to hold a pistol. Saying just shoot it like a normal pistol doesnt exactly describe anything..

  • @dirtyminded604 well do you shoot right handed? if you do dont put your left hand thumb on the safety while you hold it. always worked for me its my favorite gun.

  • @dirtyminded604 Great question- the answer is that no-one can claim that any grip is the "proper" way. There are different ways which come with pros and cons. Since they are your hands and no one else's, then you need to grip the gun the way which is best for you. The con to thumb under is the possibility engaging the safety. If you can't shoot well (assuming lots of practice) with thumb on, then find what works. There is too much balck/white in a shades of grey world.

  • @DeadeyeSteve Thanks. although my question was over two years ago lol. In that time i have learned to hold the 1911 with the strong hand thumb on top of the safety. (Parallel thumb style), or IPSC. I didn't like it at first, yet i couldn't help but notice my shots on target were more precise. So i slowly got used to it. Now i dont shoot a pistol any other way. Except for Sig Sauers, i tend to ride the slide release causing it not to lock back on the last shot. just with Sig or Sig like pistols.

  • @dirtyminded604 2yrs- oh my, lol. I experienced the same thing- I didn't like it at first, but it quickly fell into place. Have fun, be safe.

  • springfield or kimber?

  • springfield

  • nice got the same model, only it's the target version. How much are you paying for ammo down souht? It's $50 for WWB here, last time I was down for thanksgiving, walmart had them for $32 :o.

  • sweet model,

i'm saving to get the trp model with the bull barrel, shot it a few weeks ago and the recoil was insanely smooth (due to the extra weight of the barrel). not sure how it would be for a combat gun, but i think it would be great for competition (I'm not a fan of adjustable sights on combat guns).

i shoot lots of reloads from my local range, i pay about 17 dollar for a bag of 50, if i shoot factory i look for the best buy online (midwayusa and cheaper than dirt)

  • mmmmmmmm......yummy....i would love to get the old trp operators with the full length dust cover, but they are expensive and hard to find. Ill eventually reload once i get a stable job. i also like the longsides from sa, i found an owner that has one in black ss. lol i never expected to get my sa, it was a spurr of the moment in the shop when i got it. love it and never regreting it.

  • yeah man, I was jus messing around on this vid Slamming the trigger as fast as I could just to see what it was like But you are right a proper control paired would be of a 5 count draw (4 if you skip the low ready) 1)sight picture 2)trigger press 3)follow thru 4)trigger reset 5)sight picture 6)trigger press 7)follow through At least that what uncle Scottie tought me :)
  • no complaint here

but you double taps are a bit off as in the positioning of you hands

you are supposed to let the gun recoil so then it returns too the same position for another shot

the aim of a double tap is to hit you man and to force him down with a second shot......but still...nice gun :P

  • double "tabs" uh.. do you mean TAP? ... double TAP?

  • no i ment "taps" with out the capitals and in plural, thanks for trying dogh :P

  • 4'd because you went to the los angeles shooting range.

  • lol! oh yeah that range is awsome!!

  • was the vid, taken yesterday? i ask because i was there too.

did you check out that new girl working at the store.

gene? is it, she has an awesome rack.

  • nah, i was there friday, but i think i know who you are taking about (shorty with the black curly hair), i think she's been there for a few months now, but yeah she has a very exelent rack :D !
