Nat King Cole, who played great blues piano, recorded a version of this piece that is just classic. Sometime in the early sixties I had the sheet music for his version, but I have had no luck finding it again, althogh I've been looking for ten years. If anybody has any information, pleas post it!
After Hours, by Lloyd Glenn, was my Dad's favorite song. I melted his LP by leaving it on the amplifier and it took him 10 years to find a replacement. I thought this was a very nice approximation -- Thanks.
I think this is a pretty good start... but mannn... go back and listen to the original... you aren't quite there yet. You sound better than most.. but this isnt great. Your timing is slightly off... this is supposed to be uptempo, but I feel like you're rushing it a little bit.
Who says he should do it note for note like the original? If I wanted to hear the original, I'd listen to the original. He's made his own interpretation and it's very good to listen to.
A sheet music tif file is available at the yahoo boogie-woogie piano group.
