  • I absolutely love this piece. I love the way Concordia sang it. I'm very excited to sing it and think our soloists will do fantastic as did these ones.

  • Woah! I've gotta sing this for choir! Hope It'll turn out amazing like these guys!

  • @PokemonMaster0309

haha, my choir is going to sing this song AT Concordia (: only the 11 and 12 graders though....

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! does anyone else feel like the need to be raising up Simba? haha

  • Poor first soloist.

  • seems a little rushed to me. i sang this for my high school choir christmas show.

  • sang this for our christmas concert of 09 incredible

  • I always find it kind of funny watching all white choirs sway. The swaying is all too choreographed. There's no hip and no "soul." I have to say though, impressive performance nonetheless.

  • The first soloist is incredibly sharp. Not even two notes in the music occur, and the soloist brings the choir up a semitone.

That being said, the song and choreography were well performed, and the choir did a good job overall.

  • @cjhar I listened again to the pitch pipe which appears to be a little sharp. Yes it is a 1/2 step above the published score. However, I took a listen to another recording they did at Christmas and it is done 1/2 higher on that one also. Listen to Milikin's version also. They keep it in C. It was quite the spectacle to have this number done with all 300 singers at Concordia's Christmas. I had emailed Dr. Holmes when I put this up. He was thrilled to have this group do his work.

  • @maestroz25 If they wanted to perform it in C# major, why wasn't a C# given on the pitch pipe? The written key was clearly the intended performance key if a C-natural was given on the pitch pipe.

  • @cjhar I don't think they intended to... more than likely just nerves and he went a lil sharp.

  • All I can say is...WOW! This was fantastic. The 6/8 time is really intense and your choreography was fun. This piece is certainly harder to sing than how it first appears on paper: the percussion is grooving in a different part of the measure, and it, to me, is a little less "traditional", in the American choral aspect anyway, than other standard African noel pieces. You guys make it look easy! Great job!

  • this is beautiful. Can i please have the lyrics and the meaning of the song? thanks

  • @oxoxoxNENEoxoxoxo Noel! Noel! Jesus has come to live with us. If you want to know the Child, you have to come kneel. - Kituba Dialect

  • I congratulate them are very good choir this book is very well attached all the voices are beautiful I wish I could live I know I'ma fan of this choir .... really commend you!

  • I love Rene Clausen!! <3 Ahhh! What a great guy!

  • Ah, I love this song! I am a female alto, but I was able to get the baritone solo part for this song, and I got to stand with the men!!!! I absolutely loved it, and the men loved being able to tease me... and I must say, the audience freaked when they saw me singing the guy part! This is totally a favorite of mine!

  • what an amazing performance! The tradition is in very good hands.

  • Very fast! Nice job in general, though. The soloists need to work on the pronunciation of the words.
