One of the best film openings ever! I like how Sellers slows his gait as he approaches Ringo on the bridge, walks out of the scene, then comes back in. This film is so underrated. It's really a "lost" Monty Python picture, with Chapman and Cleese among the writers and enjoying bit parts. Note how Sellers pulls some literal bread from his billfold--very Pythonesque. I read the original novel by Terry Southern and must say the film is better; e.g., Ringo's Youngman character is not in the book.

@Querencias - Badfinger's demise was due to their lousy Manager, Stan Polley whom seemed rather adept at spiriting money that belong to the band, away, into his own hidden accounts. Two band members committed suicide thanks to that swine.

Yes, I knew about Pete and Tom, their depressing end and, as you said, much of the demise of their will to live was due to the doings of unscrupulous, vile and stupid individuals in Badfinger's management gang. These people ought to feel the burden of guilt on account of murder, practically. Quite sad indeed. Badfinger was a good band, with good people. Carry on my friend.

This is a great flick. It wasn't a great hit, but with Peter Sellers and Ringo, it should have been. Raquel Welch is in it, a slave master on a Roman boat. It is more of a cult thing. I reccomend it.
