This is GREAT! Peppermint Rainbow's version - good as it is - could only have come from the USA; this has a wonderfully English atmosphere & makes me feel a tad homesick...and Royalty are another new name to this former 60s smart-arse. Thanks again ladrocedro.
I could be wrong, but I believe this version came before The Peppermint Rainbow's version. However, neither version is the original. The original was by an unknown demo singer that sounded a LOT like David Cassidy, though I doubt it's really him.
I really like The Peppermint Rainbow a lot though, I got their disk back in the spring, and the final track "I Found out I Was A Woman" sounds like part two of
"...Sunday". They should have been much bigger that they were I think.
Love this song! Believe this was the one I heard originally back in the 60's (I live in Chicago.) But, love the Peppermint Rainbow version too. Some one should re-record this. Bet it would be a hit! The 60's were the best. Brings back those wonderful memories for sure.
Sorry, but I think the Peppermint Rainbow version was better. I prefer their lush harmony and more polished production better. Still, it's nice to hear other versions I never knew about. Thanks for posting!
@cmulwee001 It seems a lot of times British singers picked up on American songs first. Like the British stuff that was old rock and roll. This song I'm not sure about?
It's the unpolished performance that makes it great. Never heard this song before I found this posting !!! I don't know why it did not get any airplay!
Good singer, lots better than Pepperment Rainbow. Peppermint Rainbow kills this song and then beats it to death again with a shovel. I hate it when someone records their voice then re-records the tape a couple of times at slightly faster speeds and has a sound tech remix togethor. It only worked well for the vocal tracks of Association's "Cherish" and Shelly Fabares' "Johnny Angel.

Which one is the original? This or Peppermint Rainbows? I'm thinking this version probably came first, but I could be wrong

Nice! And at 2:25-2:30 you'd think it's going to segue in to "Rescue Me"!

An interesting version...I like the Peppermint Rainbow version....the lyrics are easier to understand in this British version however.
