I downloaded this game off of your site and began installing. Eventually it asked me to create an acount. I put everthing I needed to put in such as a username and password. The only thing I didn't put in was the activication . can anyone help me figure out how to get past this step and find the activication key.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

online isn't worth the bill because once you missed one payment you lose, a year goes by and everything is gone or did you think they where gunna just freeze your area and wait for your payment. save your money and time and try to enjoy the single player. that's the only thing this game has got for itself

No, there is no online war feature in the game.

We will however add more competitive features in the future for players who wish so, but expect it to be more of an economic war than one with tanks and bazookas ;)

Why does an online game necessitate armed warfare? Economic competiton (or 'warfare') seems plausible enough for a game of this type. I can't see why it wouldn't be successful unless the economic implementation itself is flawed.

(1) Today. I live in Canada, I just bought it an hour ago and I am not satisfied at all with this game. There is no god mode like in Sim City 4 where you could do all your landscape yourself. How could they fuck something that simple and not put this mode into the game? Now I'm stuck with five different landscapes to choose from a planet, which they have nothing to do with real cities landscape. It said: make the city of your dreams. So it has nothing to do with reality and usual cities.

(2) I'm so disappointed because they finally get every aspect of public transportation to the game (from road to highways, every angles are possible), but you are stuck with this land that you don't want at all. I want to be able to change the landscape but I can't. I hope Sim City will make a more decent sequel to Sim City 4 instead of this Sim City Societies which is false city simulation game.

It's October 9!!! Game launched 3 hours ago!!! Waiting impatiently!!! Worse of all, I still have 6 hours of school before I can find out if it came in the mail, since they usually deliver in the morning to early afternoon. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!

Few mores hours till Cities XL releases in North America!!! I pre-ordered, so it should be in the mail tomorrow. These hours are gonna be the longest hours of my life! The only thing comparable was when I was waiting to get my MacBook, and I couldn't sleep the night before.

I already know how I'm gonna build my first city! It will resemble New York, with the highway that runs along the banks, the high population density, and the bridges! But I will add a suburban aspect to the burroughs outside of the downtown core. I wish you good luck on your first city!

You first need to register online with your CD-key before you can play the game.

The game is not using Starforce nor limiting the number of installations possible.

It says on my pre-order confirmation email that the game will be out 10/09/09, so it'll be out on friday. It also says it'll send me the links to download it at 00:01 hours, so I assume it will be available for download the very first minute of the day. :)
