    my grandmother passed away 9months ago, and she was exactly like this. Until I saw this I didn't realize how much I missed her. I wish so much I could just hug her right now. And now I'm crying. Great.

  • That's exactly the way my mum taught me how to make them. One thing the interviewer forgot to add was that the oven needs to be pipping hot and the oil smoking before putting the batter into the tins. Cook for 15-25 minutes until they have risen and are crispy, some chefs cook them till they have just risen but I don't think they taste as good if they are too raw.

    Does she have a recipe for a suet crust? my Grannie's recipe went to heaven with her I'm afraid. Best suet crust EVER!! she put it on Meat & Potato pies, steak pies etc. You couldn't move for 2 hours after eating it.
