The combat is the meat of the game in edge of time and it is improved more than just slightly, it's been revamped and its amzing, but other than that theres not much to compare it to. Web of shadows is free roam and edge of time isn't but edge of time get's better story progression because it is told through levels instead of boring 2 minute, half ass done, cut scenes.

LOOK, What these Spiderman enthusiasts need to do with the franchise is make a whole game about the 2099 Spidey in an open world enviroment. Kind of that Spiderman 2 and Web of Shadows feel. Now THAT would be a game.

If this came BEFORE Shattered DImensions, I think it wouldn't be as bad. Because the idea is cool, of controlling two Spider-Man's from different times. But then, coming after Shattered Dimensions where we could control 4 different Spider-Man's, it seems like downgrading.

Though i do want them to take their time with it, I am also excited. Non cannon with SD, 2099 is a main part of the story, not to mention we already know it will be a good game as far as the actual combat goes. Lets hope its not the same exact thing as SD. Hopefully something new is implemented. Perhaps even an open world 2099 and amazing? Most likely not, but one could dream.
Let's be honest, Shattered Dimensions was one of the best Spidey games in a good long while (not as good as the classic PS1 games, but still). This game is basically improving on it. My complaint in SD was the story, & it seems to have been corrected here. It won't top Arkham City, but it looks to still be good.
Also, just saying, Josh Keaton will be voicing Peter Parker (Amazing Spider-Man), while Christopher Daniel Barnes will be voicing Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099).
I have to say though that i must play it only because i love Spider-Man. Beenox does have a respect for the character and his universe and it really shows in these games. Though i can't tell if they have read comics before, plenty of Marvel characters die but come back through plot convenience, Didn't Peter die then get more awesome spider-powers? Besides you can't go wrong with Christopher Daniel Barnes and Josh Keaton reprising their roles as Spidey! (Is that Doom's robe at 0:29 ?)

I was waiting for something new and refreshing, especially I wanted something better from the combat system, but I guess they were too lazy to improve it from the shattered dimensions.
"If it's not broke, don't fix it" that's the attitude what they seem to have... Even thou a lot of people said that Shattered Dimensions was the best Spiderman game after Spiderman 2 it still doesn't mean it's actually so good that it doesn't need ANY improvement

Though i do want them to take their time with it, I am also excited. Non cannon with SD, 2099 is a main part of the story, not to mention we already know it will be a good game as far as the actual combat goes. Lets hope its not the same exact thing as SD. Hopefully something new is implemented. Perhaps even an open world 2099 and amazing? Most likely not, but one could dream.

Let's be honest, Shattered Dimensions was one of the best Spidey games in a good long while (not as good as the classic PS1 games, but still). This game is basically improving on it. My complaint in SD was the story, & it seems to have been corrected here. It won't top Arkham City, but it looks to still be good.
Also, just saying, Josh Keaton will be voicing Peter Parker (Amazing Spider-Man), while Christopher Daniel Barnes will be voicing Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099).

I have to say though that i must play it only because i love Spider-Man. Beenox does have a respect for the character and his universe and it really shows in these games. Though i can't tell if they have read comics before, plenty of Marvel characters die but come back through plot convenience, Didn't Peter die then get more awesome spider-powers? Besides you can't go wrong with Christopher Daniel Barnes and Josh Keaton reprising their roles as Spidey! (Is that Doom's robe at 0:29 ?)

@MasterKiraX What are you talking about? Josh Keaton and Christopher Barnes are some of the best Spidey voice actors.
And yeah, one comic did have that happen. Some of the comics had really crappy plots.

Neil Patrick Harris was ok, but these guys ARE Spider-Man, the same way Mark Hamil IS the Joker. Jeez what is it with the exclamation mark meaning anger, and not making your point, guess i'll never exclaim ever again! (LOL)

Why? Why do this? It's practically cut and paste of Shattered Dimensions, just minus 2 dimensions. Maybe Beenox just shoulda made an open world Spider-Man 2099, or open world Spider-Man Noir. They haven't been deone yet! Their last game revealed their existence to plenty of gamers, so why not? I have to admit the story got me kinda hooked, but seeing that it isn't open world like everyone wants is a MONUMENTAL disapointment.
