I know of a full length movie that's actually done the exact same thing but weaving a totally different story on top of old clips joined together with the production's own footages, it's called "KUNG POW" It was totally hilarious when he kung fu'd against a cow and there's a segment with a master singing "taco bell, taco bell". I think it came out in year 2000.

Fearless had just as much wire fu in it as well. The difference is Moon Warriors is a fantasy, while Fearless was based off a true story. To get technical, I can see wire fu in a fantasy, because that is what it is. But using it in a movie based on true events, now that is just crazy. It's hard to get me to believe a true story with guys defying gravity in it.
