@ryan125g Lebanon City. LOL I remember this fire....I was there....along with all of Lebanon county's EMS/Fire and half of Dauphin and Berks Co as well!
I AGREE WITH APDMC IM IN SOUTH TEXAS AND THEIRS A BUNCH OF IMMATURE DRIVERS THAT THINK THEY R FUNNY OR DONT EVEN CARE AND THINK THEY CAN KEEP DRIVING BUT THATS OKAY LET THEM GET THE TICKET ND POSSIBLE JAIL TIME OR WORSE
Forgive me for saying this, but it appears that the ladder truck doesn't have any flashing lights. Are they just difficult to see or, in fact, did the driver forget to turn them on?
What brand and modle fo breathing apparatus do you guys use in this video?they look pretty sinilar to the Dragar PA94 sets ive previously used.and great video too mate
I remember this fire. Sirens were going from 8 am clear into at least 3-5 am. I had a hard time sleeping. And my friend got injured in it(he's a fire lieutenant)
How come I got two negatives on my comment? I wasn't trying to be offensive to anyone but thats what happened. Also I found out that if the furnace explodes it's an automatic 10-alarm. Is that what happened? O btw the dispatcher was rehired as Station 9's chief...
Also. What the hell happened to cause a 10-alarm fire?! We also have an aluminum plant in our city limits, and it's standard procedure to call Station 1 (us) then have station 2 on standby but damn 10 Alarms! About a week ago, the alum. plant had a warehouse fire, and due to recent politics with dispatch. The lady called Station 9 (over 20 minutes away), then Station 2 (10 minutes away), then Station 1 (us)(only 2 minutes away!) She said she did what she thought was right. She was fired.
I wish my department could afford an Aerialscope! Tell you about our situation. We needed two trucks 2 years ago. Well our knocker leaked if you hit the brakes too hard. The lights didn't always work, the siren didn't work and the whole truck shook going over 35. Our ladder was an old 80's E-One with only a 50ft ladder. New condos were put up which would take at least a 100ft ladder. What did we get? Nothing for 2 years. Just 2 weeks ago we got an old Ford knocker from another station.
Thanks guys for adding this video! I was the dispatcher on duty that day for Lebanon County! I could not have asked for a better response from your department as well as Dauphin County. This is a day I will remember forever...10 Alarms this fire went to using apparatus from 7 different counties!! 4 fills sites 2 dumps sites and a 5" lay of 4,000ft plus... not bad for a days work!!
The title says that this is a video of a fire. Unless I'm watching a edited version, all I saw was a fire truck driving on the street and then a few firemen walking down a smoky street. This is not aptly titled. Six minutes of that annoying siren is enough to piss anyone off. Rename this video POS No.1.
Imagine being the 30 minutes away near the plant and seeing these guys roll into town. Holy shit something must really be burning if THESE guys are here
nice puff of black smoke from the ladder is that a detroit in that our ladder is and smokes like that in second gear for about 300 feet no matter how long its been running and that with the non smoke filter on
I ran with cleona co. 8 at the time when this happened. There was miles of hoses everywhere there and the one that was the most longest was the one that went all the way to the main water house. Everyone that was there throughout the night didn't care where they crashed to get at least a small nap to try and grab enough energy for the rest of the day. I ended up grabbing a small one on the floor of our engine. Some outside on the ground leaning on the pile of foam bottles.
At the end I had a whole bunch of blisters on the back of my heel, but despite the pain I kept going. I give props to everyone that stayed there through out the night as I did. The first due company was there quite fast. This company wasn't called until after either the 2nd or 3rd alarm that was sent out. This was a 5 alarm fire. So companies all around came to this. I hope you guys don't preach to how long it took them but more give them some support and say hey thanks for being there.
paystar7000, this is ridiculous. fireman, especially volunteer wich first have to leave work, drive through city-traffic to go to the fire station or home to wear on the uniform if it's not in the car. in my case, i take up to 30 minutes to get to the fire in my village. my atwantage is, i'm on-route with a motorcycle, so it's easyer to get through the traffic.
Bro, chill, one they are TRUCKS carrying soo much equipment and reserves. Plus, they have to fight with traffic. Give them a break. At least they are doing their job.
This video is only 7 minutes long, but you altered the scenery at least 5 times, I presume to speed it up. How long did it actually take you to get to location from the station?
The Camera we are using only took 30 second clips. So in other words I had to fix it up. It took us almost 30 minutes to get there, but they wanted us Class 1 to the scene.
I like the sound of a Q-2 as much as the next guy, but please come on that's a bit excessive.
