I have one of these power amps and preamps. What is signal chain I have mine to the input of the engl, out the instr. output to the input of the Peavey then the output of the peavey is going into the cab that is wired parallel 4ohms. have the selector switch set to mono 4ohm on the pwr amp. Its not very loud for a 50 watt per side pwr amp. Do I have it connected wrong? thx in advance!
@verticalslice First of all, be careful with your poweramp! If you are playing in mono option you can only have one amp cable to the cab at the respective impedance and you must switch BOTH standby buttons off (up) , not just one.
As for the preamp you DO have it connected wrong since you must use the LINEOUT (left side if in mono). The instrument out is for the effects loop which is the equivalent to a send output which has low decibel value. For live situations max to 15dB the lineout lvl.
@erdiabolo Thanks for the info! That did the trick. Line out of preamp to power amp. Sounds killer thx! I assume that active pups and other high output pups drive the preamp and give a darker tone? I have some Rio Grande BBQ buckers in a les paul custom and it sounds great, but I wanna try some EMG's or Blackouts thru this rig.Thx again for the help.
