The only problem with Sokolov is that after hearing his performance - I cannot hear another pianist! His way of performing is by REVEALING all the composition's components, thus giving the music its most highest true pleasure.

He's astonishingly persuasive.
And he's equally split between expressing the emotional and the sensual elements in anything he plays.
A very balanced musician ... great taste, with a real concern, not for display, but for the music itself.
