GM has to invest its money in new and stable markets and that does a whole lot more than all of the take home pay of all the employees all together. In their defense, I've had 4 GM trucks all bought new and everyone made it to at least 450,000 miles before it needed any mechanical alteration i.e. new alternator, water pump, or steering pump. And I have a new 2009 CTS-V which I traded my 2007 BMW M6 on, and a '97 Buick Century which I've owned since new and is a mileage record holder currently has 842k original miles, and the only work done on it has been a water pump, thermostat, and A/C compressor. They've always been there for me

hondas are awesome!!! you can beat the shit out of them and they virtually never quit unless standard maintenance is not brought through. if used properly the motor will easily last above 300k miles. No cobalt/cavalier or Malibu has proved this commonly like the civic/accord has easily achieved. .
