@Guiiac the reason that mankind hasn't been going there is because NASA shut down for all the accidents thats happened. Since they had the challenger blow up and Apollo 13 almost get lost, they didn't want to kill anyone else so they shut down so no one's going to space anymore that we know of

I loved the Apollo 11 landing, which I watched with my dad when I was a child.

But even more, I love the Apollo 13 landing, in which those brave astronauts found their way home, with the help of friends.

Their team, led by the great Gene Krantz, pushed through the walls of their perceived limitations. Those walls came tumbling down as they worked as a brilliant team, at lightning speed, to bring their friends home safely.

That's how I feel about our soldiers. World peace will save their lives.

We only know a very specific type of life, carbon-based life, there may be many other forms which can survive in very different conditions. The moon does not support any life that we know of, but that doesn't mean it can't support any kind of life that exists in the universe.

@TheRikRoll It's an interesting theory, but it proven to be a damaged thermostat in the oxygen tank that failed during a ground test months before the mission. This melted the insulation of the O2 fan motor wires causing them to act as a source of ignition, boiling off O2 faster than the vent lines could remove it. Pressure built up rapidly until the tank exploded, severely damaging the service module.

my favorite part about how they filmed this was how they rode the vomit comet (totaled more than 3 hours on there; more than any astronaut) for the shots in outer space. gives more realism to the film itself. much props to the director and everyone for putting in so much effort.
