you have to be patient and i have the so called good hair too so i know how you feel i have been on the journey for almost 11 months and my hair is not locked yet
the rubberbands keep the locs from unraveling at the root. Also, if you're not already, make sure you're sleeping with a du-rag so that your hair doesn't get messed at night. Yea, and remember patience is the name of the game when growin locs. Just stick in their, man. Peace.
Well, first of all, hair doesn't lock up in a week to begin with. If anything, it wants to uncoil. DO NOT twist every night. That's kind of a no-no for locs. But, I actually started my locs Jan. 3, so I'm in a similar noob boat as you. But, I have a couple suggestions.I actually had a loctician start my locs, and I have been maintaining them since. Much easier and practical. Also, I can still see my parts from Jan. 3 because I keep tiny rubber bands at the base of my locs.
mango and lime and the black bees wax my hair seems to hold better with the bees wax so i use mango and lime gel black top and black bees wax together
