the collection was tame but it was still in tune with the brand and it brought out a subtle freshness. i think a mis step so far is the season where he went for that dishevelled look which is still tasteful but did not go with the brand and another with all the volume sheer fabric. I am a fan of his men's collection and he always incorporates stuff here and there. this season u see it in his men's then u see it in raf by raf and it goes to jil sander
I love this collection. its so sweet and soft, but the angular shapes and dramatic white and black colors make it so chic as well! i love how this collection is also very wearable for me even.
Oh...and minimalism was never a trend to Jil Sander. It may come and go, but this house (in a way similar to Calvin Klein) will never discard its signature because a trend movement picked it up for a season.
I have to be honest, I didn't pay much attention to Jil Sander until last spring's show...one of my favorite collections that has ever walked down a runway. However Raf has become a designer I've eagerly awaited since. This collection was tame in comparisson to his last two, but I still find it to be a breath of fresh air. Tailoring and silhouette can still make quite a statement.
"Moderm attitude"; "futuristic"... people are all blind. I've always been a great supporter of Raf Simons' work, but this collection is FAR from his true genius. Take all the old clothes and the old attitude and leave it to a great stylist mix them up, so it's done. No matter if you use synthetics instead of naturals, it is still old. Just about everything here is disapponting... the paisleys, the hats, the hair, the brooches... all so matronal. Please bring the REAL Simons back!
To understand this type of collection first we must understand Raf, he constructs all of this ideas in his mind like 50s glamour and the he translates them into this simplyicity chic and clean idea which gives us a really strong and beautifull colection.
Who gives a crap what music they play aslong as it doesnt have profanity. Candy shop is a fun song get over yourselves! Oh, I guess some boring indie band music would be more fitting?
I find it odd that 50 cent's "candyshop" was playing in the background...I mean that would be appropriate for a baby phat or sean john show but a jill RTW show....really???....the collection didn't stand out to me, there were to many white clothing,I think the "minimal" trend is over;it was to basic..I did like the picasso sweater though...
Definitely my favourite collection so far.. It`s so mid-century but very futuristic. I`ve never seen anyone do it like this, it`s definitely not retro either. It`s just so optimistic, it`s like the 50`s where no one thought anything bad is going to happen in the future.
The amalgamation of the classic Jil Sander girl and Raf Simons`s creative mind compliments each other so well, the result is crisp, fresh perfection.
i love his collection. I even love what he was wearing!

There are no words to describe how amazing Candy Shop is in a Jil Sander collection (even better than the Busta Rhymes last spring).

I don't like it, the pieces felt so uniform-y and I think the length of the dresses/ and skirts are unflattering.
