Not true. There is plenty of blame to go around.
People who bought houses that they couldn't afford simply because a variable rate SOUNDED good at the time are at blame too for making piss-poor decisions. People got greedy and they figured they could afford it due to the rising property values. All those people who bought into the sub-prime mortgage crap are just as guilty.
People issuing those loans are even WORSE, and they were not big shots either. PLENTY of blame and greed to go around.

I became self employed 6 years ago because of this. As a result I've learned a different kind of knowledge not learned in school.
First - People build this up too much. So RELAX in interviews. Walk in with this mindset. "If they offer me the position fine - if they don't fine".
Second- Know what you are worth relative to the market. And be respectful but firm. It shows you have value.
Third -Ignore advice from the experts. They tend to dissect everything to the bone. Just be yourself.

I was laid off for 4 months and applied to 2,207 jobs before finally landing one. Sad thing is, it's not the job I want or the salary I want. I got calls for jobs all the time, but most of them were scams or just really bad jobs. So many people out there have tips for getting jobs, charging for their services, but I give out free advice. 2 things I can recommend.... Improve your resume and cover letter to stand out. If that doesn't work, just lie your ass off.

I decided to go to self employed when I got laid off last year. I may go back to work for a company some time in the future, but if I do it will be on my terms not theirs. Obama is doing nothing for the unemployed other than making it easier to be unemployed. He's definately not doing anything to create jobs as pormised.
