I liked the old US which was pre-1976 not including Vietnam war as well.
Iraq started as a mission to secure WMDs which would definatly be the case with Iran. This is a good war to test numerous strageties and new weapons such as the MOAB, recon robots, etc. If they learn from todays mistakes they wouldnt worry about making a new goverment and helping civilians; it would be an annihilation mission. Killing everyone would help take out a big portion of terrorism and wipe Iran off the map.
Think over the situation in Iraq it resembles Iran almost entirly. Iraq is a good "training" mission for the invasion of Iran. the culture is relativly similiar, although Iran is 4x the size of Iraq, it contains the same cities, villages, and oil fields.
By the end of this century, if not sooner, we'll all be in a bloody and costly war. Wheather we would "win" or not would depend entirely on our current goverment, allies, and enemy. China or Iran seem to be possible targets now.

If you had foreigners come to your country and you see even ONE incident of abuse from your occupiers, aren't going to hate those occupiers? Like all wars, we have had incidents of rape, murder, misdirected bombs, etc. especially during the initial invasion. So yes, our presence in Iraq generates more hate, and therefore more terrorism towards the west. They hate us like most of the non-western world, because we are cocky, thinking that we can fix shit we know nothing about.

Many Iraqis are volunteering to serve in the military and on the police force even though they are faced with the real possibility of death. America needs to stand with them because they are standing up for themselves. We lost Vietnam because we did not fight that war to win.

When their parliament goes on vacation with the country at war. When the west drew the map of Iraq without considering tribal differences (1918). Iraq is destined NOT to be a democracy. The idea of all of us not paying income tax is the definitive spark of life that this country needs in order to rebel. Our country has suffered for the last two terms these assholes have been in office, shifting our laws and downgrading our rights. As in a famous quote once said, "I'm a human being god dammit, my life has value." How long do we have before our government soon turns into a dictatorship. Repair large parts of the military as well as raise enlisted pay. Give all teachers major pay raises.
Raise the quality level of education. Start major inner city programs for needy children & the homeless.

the first step for a revolution in order to give the gov. a sign of the strength of the public is by stopping paying income tax. it will be the first real signal that the public is not going to take any shit from the gov anymore. it will then also increase the confidence of the public in his own strength and lead to other successes. it is hard to fight against something which is controlling you with your own will (consume) but income tax is obviously a good start.
