People always grasp onto the good things in order to deal with the bad. However, if real issues in the world had this much press and exposure, we could change all of the bad in the world. Celebrating is escapism and allows the audience to forget about death and hatred and instead focus on hope and love and new beginnings. I'm not saying that this fanaticism is justified, but I can certainly see how refreshing it is to not hear about war. The wedding will pass and so will the coverage, just be patient and use other sources of news to get the information you want.
