  • Do you adjust the EQ`s every night or are they set once and you just mix from the board?

  • @delacerdaa

I do not advise leaving 1/3 octave EQ set to one curve every night. Flatten it out and start fresh every night. Once you "know the room" you will start by reducing frequencies that are common to the room acoustics and PA system that you always reduce. The EQ setting from last night heavy metal band the EQ curve will not sound too good for the String Quartet performing the next night

If you are travelling with your own PA, then the curve will need slight adjustments every night.

  • Feedback can be caused by the temperature changes brought on during a show. Once lights go full tilt, which doesn't often happen during soundcheck, the stage will heat up considerably, causing the speed of sound to increase. Hi frequencies will travel through the warmer air easier, which will change your gain-before-feedback ratios.

  • Excellent stuff.

  • good stuff, keep it coming =)

  • Why not tell the Singers to quit cupping the mic like an idiot when they hear feedback

  • Why not save yourself a lot of work, and use the Behringer feedback destroyer?

  • @Crashboy1024 first of all it depends on whether you are talking about an install PA that never changes of a mobile PA system. in an Installation, the feedback destroyer is probably a good choice.

For you tech heads out the the Feedback Destroyer Pro is capable of providing a 24dB cut at one sixtieth of an Octave!!!!!!! The ultimate notch filter!!

Gotta be careful though.....that device has three different "modes" :

    1. Scanning

    2. Singleshot

    3. Parametric

    Makes a big difference!!!!!!

  • more, more, more of this!!! ;)
