this game is so good my sister saw me playing for about 3 minutes and decided to play all the way through...and she never ever plays any sort of shooter games . personally i don't like fps games either...but this i couldn't put it down..it almost ruined my life lol just amazing its something truely special. i don't think anything will ever have this kinda impact on me...well...dead space did another must play
Jesus! there are some pretty scary tracks for this game and I can bearly hear them when I'm playing the game. Even if I turn up the volume. If they could only increase the volume of the song, that would add some much needed fear to bioshock's so called "horror" game

jack was andrew ryan and his wifes child. ryans wifes embryio was taken out and sold for more adam and fontaine purchased it knowing what and who it was. he scientifically altered the baby to mature extremely quickly and programed him to respond to "would you kindly" and sent him up to the surface with a programed background story that jack believed was true. Fontaines plan was to bring jack down to rapture again to overthrow ryan. ingenious!

Can somebody explain to me a part i didn't understand? When he meets Andrew Ryan, why does he let you kill him? Was he destined to return to Rapture? His parents lived in Rapture? He wanted to die with it, not with his people but with what his city was able to achieve. Not one of you can't say that mw2 isn't fun, and it's a game - so it has acheived its goal. Bioshock, on the other hand, is a masterpiece, something that call of duty will never be. That doesn't mean that either of them are bad, but it also doesn't mean that they are in the same league.
@nudeood yes, it has a plot, characters that you can make a connection to, that you can really just feel sympathy, anger, sorrow, greif, curriosity and other moods of such. MW2 may be a first erson shooter, but Bioshock 1 and 2 are first person shooters that have an interesting plot line, developed characters, and a sense of emotion!

I still can't believe a game like Bioshock would be THIS scary... the scariest part that I really remember is in the Rapture Control... where you would go into this one hallway and see all dead bodies. The lights turn off once. Ryan speaks. The lights turn off again. Suspicious dead bodies lie. Once you get closer they all jump at you. I jumped too. :O
OH, and the ice-fog thing in one of the hospitals in Medical Pavillion also scared me.
The one where you find that tonic in the corner, and the mist comes down, and there's that Splicer behind you! OMG that part scared the HELL outta me! D:

Hmm..I doesn't has a surround soundz. Only a 21.5" HD monitor with a green pixel right in the center. But I can still tell where the enemies are. Left is left, Right is right, and center is in front. And dull voices mean they're behind me.
I remember seeing a creepy doctor disappear and knowing he would jump out at me. I suddenly heard a loud noise to my left and I didn't even see him before I gunned him down. You gotta love surround sound.
i think the game is more scary the bigger the tv you got.. my fav lvl of all time has to be fort frolic.. and fav moment is just about every second of this game.

The sound has a lot to do with it : ). Add a really good 5.1 sound system and you're in for an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.
Why do you think people get excited at concerts from sound? It's loud. Over 90 decibels of sound (the level you have to raise your voice to talk over it) is guaranteed to get your adrenaline going, especially in gaming.

what startled me the most was when you're in that doctors office with the water on the floor, and you go to the table to get something off of it and then the lights flicker and theres alot of fog in the room, and when you turn around theres a freakin doctor splicer right infront of you just staring at you and he's massive. scared the shit out of me the first time haha

@MeachamProductions you are absolutely right about that, but its hard to compare a game based on online play to a game based strictly on a story mode. No game will ever amount to what Bioshock has given us as it relates to story modes. Bioshock is certainly the best ever...ever.

I dont mean to be mean, but it's the opinion that counts, not the spelling. I mean everyone makes typoes every now and then. some make a lot and some (like me) have spelling errors up the huha and typoes. Can't always be helped nor bothered to be helped. @MeachamProductions you are absolutely right about that, but its hard to compare a game based on online play to a game based strictly on a story mode. No game will ever amount to what Bioshock has given us as it relates to story modes. Bioshock is certainly the best ever...ever.
