  • maybe Im crying

  • wah wah to start, ala good buddy jimi.

joe lala, dallas taylor and fuzzy laying it down.

chris and al perkins slathering it with honey.

still's personally paid millions to take this on tour.

i was playing the down the road lp one night when paul harris passed by my room, heard it and knocked. he said he had never had such a good time in his life and sat down to listen to the lp.

american children making it hard to look them in the eye.

  • I hope I'm not the only Sonic fan here, but either way, love this song, just like I love Crush 40's!

  • Sublime, like having honey poured in your ears, I'm gonna play it again and again and again!

  • Always loved this band and the song! Used to have Manassas on vinyl but bought it again on CD.... thanks for posting!

  • "...I hope you'll remember the kid with the big white guitar and all the sad stories to tell..."

  • Listen to that White Falcon sing ! Stills was the only guitarist I've seen use Gretsch guitars and achieve so many different sounds.

  • Ready for Johnny's Garden

  • Rick Roberts of the great and underrated (yes, and drug/alcohol-addled) band, Firefall, was the primary writer of this terrific song. Check out their version on YouTube. My guess is you'll like it much more.

  • @boblpage I heard the Firefall version first and didn't realize that there was another version by Manassas. The same title and same tune, but two totally different songs. I really like both of them though.

  • Fabulous!

  • Now THIS is the song that belongs on the CSN covers album. I always thought was by CSN in the first place....

  • Rip It, Esteban!

  • nice old gretch this lp was some of stills finest work burned up alot of brain cells listening to it thanks SS

  • this song as well as many still stands after all this years, fresh, beautiful, sonic wisdom. love...& yes Stills, Hillman & all the other players here, superb. Tasty indeed.

  • WOW! I havent seen this since I was a teenager. Brings back good memories I was living in Germany from 70-75 and remember seeing this on TV. It made a big impression on me then and actually started me on my avocation-- guitar playing! Thanks for posting this.

  • One of my favorite songs ever. Spoke straight to my heart when I was in high school.

  • "Best band Stills ever had. " -- Chris Hillman. Every song on the album is a gem. Who puts together these instruments anymore in one band and writes with this kind of range? Thanks so much for posting.

  • love that hollow humbucker sound.

  • I saw them live in 72 and they really were this good. One of the best live bands I've seen.

  • I truly believe Stephen Stills took it up a notch when he helped produce an excellent version of this song on the "Firefall" debut album.

  • Super live performance. 1972 -- who knew? These guys are good, it has technical excellence and the energy of a new band. It's great to see Stills and Hillman together, two pioneers who were there from the beginning.

  • tres bien ... go on Stephen ..loved the album

  • that guitar is huge!

  • jhonny's garden l 'un plus grand morceau de stephen stills avec rock and roll women!!!!!

  • merci.. un plaisir de vor cette video, et ce chanteur.. good song, thamks you

  • one of the best songs ever written..extremly underrated.

  • @OldSteamer When you say under rated, d'you mean you liked it but not many others did? Brand loyalty is great but ratings are stats. I'm of the minority....have all of Stephens' albums, all of Daves' stuff..all of Daves' and Grahams' stuff and all of Davids', Stephens' and Grahams' stuff, Can't stand that Young bloke with all his whining. Yay the minority and the under rated
