Oh, you just can't match the strange aura of late 80's (1989 in particular) horror films. There was a certain kind of power in them.

Very true. The look of current theatrical films is so.... sanitized, and without character.

As for this film, it's awesome. I love it. The bit with the doctor infecting himself and mutating creeped the hell out of me when I first saw it.
