@MrMarkcalland The scenario is, these intruding males came into this prides territory and challenged the females. The two lionesses were protecting/distracting the males from the nearby cubs. The dominant male/males of the pride returned to 'great' the intruding males.

@MrMarkcalland This was the Mapogo male's taking over another pride. Searching for any cubs to kill so they could claim the female's when they come into heat. I believe this was the Styx pride of lionesses but not sure. The two males at the end were from the Mapogo. Actually they're brother's, Kinky tail and Mr. T. The one that take's a little beating from female's is Mr. T. Just look at his mohawk on his head thus he is called Mr. T. They took over many pride's and killed many lion's.

@ihamoitc2005 They didn't hold them off for long. Eventually they got the cubs and depending on which pride that was. They got a female lioness. These were the Mapogo male lion coalition. They were a big force to be wreckon with back then. They were responsible for the death of 50-60 lions. Thats cubs, males and females. Only 3 remain today, one of them being the male that was attacked by the 2 girls.

I don't understand but for some reason Mr.T goes after Kinky Tail when they haven't even dominated this Pride yet. This pride had total of 4 females and cubs, rite? 2 were on the rocks, and 2 were fighting. Then, where was the father? Was he dead? If he was alive, why did only females defend for the pride? At the end, why did all of lions attack each other? I really don't get it. So confusing. Can someone please explain it to me?

@BrooklynLyme maybe you should get your facts right before posting comments. This is the Mapogo coalition of males taking over the Styx pride. Old Styx lady is still alive and kicking today (and just had new cubs) so she is fine (lioness with bite on the back). This was filmed in Aug 2008. Rollercoaster Male (pride male of Styx at takeover) is fine and lived till a ripe old age (dying in 2010 from old age/sickness). Trust me, the vehicles did not contribute to this fight.

Everything happened during a morning drive, when we started following the lionesses we didn't know what we were going to experience in the next hour. We were very scared , and sometimes people scared, react laughing

However you are right the females are fighting to protect their cubs.The young males infact want to kill them (their are not the fathers).

@nomadlion1985 If you notice, a 3rd male lion arrives and then a 4th. When the 3rd male arrived (1 of the 2 pride males), he and his pride females launched their attack on the 2 nomad males. Then the 4th male enters (2nd pride male) and drives them off. Amazing, once in a lifetime footage!
