  • i don't know if you like the Gameboy or GBC - but John GBC Emulator is SUPERB - plays most games really really well!

  • The reason the mouse is off is because if the cursor is right under your finger than you wouldnt be able to see where it is! And the reason why you can't type in caps is because dos is a non case sensitive os. So the use of the caps lock/shift key is redundant.

  • @700gsteak Actually, you're wrong on both counts. I fixed the mouse cursor issue, it was just incorrectly implemented and needed calibration. And DOS has had capitalization since the beginning, why else would there be a shift or caps key? Sure, the OS itself ignores caps in the command line and such, but to say that's the reason it doesn't recognize caps here is absurd. Once again, this has been fixed since the making of this video. It was simply a feature lacking from this emulator.

  • Got this working on my Kindle Fire. Now I never have to be without Commander Keen.

  • i run red alert yay

  • Will this work on Honeycomb?

  • Lol! I still remember playing Math Rescue! I dominated at that in grade school. Gonna try and find that right now! I knew the whole "bookworm" thing clicked.

  • I think the reason why the mouse is off is simply display format, DOS is and always will be 4:3, the old monitor format. What happens is that since it stretches the image, the mouse tends to be stretched out of the way, so to speak. You'll notice the more you have your finger to the center, the closer the cursor is, the farther away your finger is from the center, the farther away the cursor will be

  • I noticed the skyfire browser. Very good app. I have it for iOS and it plays all flash videos. I even watched a live game through that app!

  • Why would you have to emulate Nintendo DS? It's also ARM-based, isn't it?

  • heard of DSX86 for the Nintendo DS? duke 1 and2 works great, so does King's Quest games

  • This refuses to change directory for me or let me switch drives...

  • I want this, but im an iphone user. Maybe i'll jailbreak it, but that voids my waranty, and I just got it about 3 weeks ago.

  • What android ver do you have? I have 2.1, also galaxy S, but doxbox doesnt open.

  • @wimpkins I have Froyo 2.2.1

  • @wimpkins I have the same issue , dosbox doesn;t open . I got a different phone but same adnroid. Did you manage to fix it ?

  • I love me a bit of Word Rescue.

  • It´s Norton Commander! I rember it well and used it alot back in the days. Good old times...

  • wow that was fast, I was looking at iphone or this one ive decided this is the way to go.

  • ooh, I shall seek this out, now I'm learning from you lol :o)

  • @RetroGamerVX Hehe, nice to trade, sir!

  • This is very interesting, I hope the programmer will continue developing dosbox for android.

  • Nice! I had no Idea dosbox worked on these platforms. I'm getting the playstation phone when it comes out and Dosbox should be fantastic on it since it has all the buttons and the touch analogue sticks which really allow you to get great controls on games that require it. And it runs android.

  • wooow, you can control the air with ur android phone

  • @9esferas1 Yes, you can and it's crazy fun. Virtually, at least.

  • Thanks for sharing! I didn't know that there was were multiple Dosbox ports already for the Android available. :)

  • Gun & Cop...

  • Comment removed

  • I think DOSBox works well on Pandora, and you have a keyboard. Shame I'm still waiting for the damn thing... ;-)

  • Amazing that you could play n64 and ps1 games isn't it?

  • education month i thought it was spring break month

  • Cool stuff. Congrats on the Andriod Phone the Samsung Galaxy is awesome. I would love to get one of those!

  • I would love to see you playing Doom on it!

  • i own a samsung galaxy vibrant and yes i can basicly do what ur doing on this i got a great nes snes n64 sega emulator to work on my android phone its great

  • The ability to someday play classic Sierra adventure games would be pretty cool. Bring on Gabriel Knight and Space Quest!

  • dosbox runs pretty well on a dingo a320, but i'm curious when i get a viewsonic gtablet

  • Part of me wants to play Mario Teaches Typing on here.

  • could you play beneath a steel sky on that if the mouse emu was fixed?

  • @1990chrism Most likely, yes! Although there's also a SCUMM emulator for Android that might work better, though I've not tried it yet.

  • do you know any windows emulators to use for android? not dos(dirty little secret OS)

  • @SickTechShow I don't know of any, but I haven't delved really deep into looking either. You can run Windows 1, 2, 3.x and 9x on the version of DOSBox shown in the video though. There are some videos on YT showing just that.

  • thats kinda cool, even more cool that the phone can handle N64 games and PS1 and even DS games, would not mind seeing that, but my old blackberry bold can't do anything like that I am sure, plus the amount of memory it gives for apps/games is pitiful... and you can't use the micro SD card to hold apps/games. sigh...

  • @DylanMayhew Yeah, I was really surprised to see PS1 and N64 games running on the thing with ease! I know what you mean about not being able to install to micro SD cards, I had a BB before this and the app space was pitiful. So freaking thankful that you can install directly to the mSD card on the Galaxy (for most apps)!

  • you have an androded why not iPhone

  • @Kataang102 Because iPhone's not an open platform. Sure there's jailbreaking, but that's kind of lame. Android meets me desires and then some.

  • @phreakindee I dont jailbreak on mine its dumb to do that

  • @Kataang102 Yup. So that's why I don't have one. You have to jailbreak it in order to get the kinds of awesome stuff you can get for the Android platform. There's a lot of other reasons I didn't go iOS, but that's the biggest for me.

  • @phreakindee can you do a vidoe on how you edit your vids I only know how to use vegas not premire

  • @Kataang102 Nope. You can check the craptons of tutorial videos for Premiere here on YouTube if you want that kind of thing. That's not my channel's focus, sorry!

  • @phreakindee its ok beacuse im really good at vegas and might try after effects or premire but is so damn expensive why do you think I went with photoshop elements do you recomend it

  • @Kataang102 If you're used to Vegas and it does what you need, stick with it. There's no reason to switch to Premiere unless you're not satisfied with what you have. I like Premiere because that's what I've always used in professional and collegiate situations.

  • @phreakindee yeah I have movie studio tho not the full so epensive people need to chill out with prices

  • @phreakindee but im uber happy with it

  • i have dosbox on psp 2000 need for speed runs 32 fps :)

  • @CrAzY3AGL3 Yup, DosBox PSP is pretty decent! The lack of any kind of keyboard control is what really made it near-useless for me though. It's just maddeningly clunky either configuring a virtual keyboard or mapping things to the buttons. Touchscreen helps massively.

  • hey lazy gamer, have you experimented with any custom ROMs for your android phone yet? :)

  • @ObamaGoesPostal Nope. Haven't felt the need yet!

  • @phreakindee

    okay. haha "NOPE!"

  • Know of any good DosBox Emulators for PSP?

  • @thatguyontheright1 Yeah. DosBox PSP.

  • I remember this game! Played it when I was young and loved it!.

  • This, or Word Rescue Plus was one of the very first games I can remember, and I found it thanks to this video!

  • loooooooooove your retro videos :) takes me back <3

  • I don't know if you already know of this, but you can also get ScummVM for Android phones. I haven't actually got around to trying it yet, but it may be worth checking out.

  • Blimey, I was convinced that edutainment month was an April Fools gag.

  • asome

  • do minecraft on your phone someone put made it work its nice youtube it :)

  • @TheMrDavidKing That's a bad idea, everyone does Minecraft and this channel is supposed to be all about the retro stuff.

  • @evilmiera well he does 8bit stuff and minecraft is 8bit plus he has minecraft vidos anyway

  • @TheMrDavidKing
