Button break late. He is the inside. come on jenson thats a basic defense right there break early turn late he cant overtake on the outside theres a chichane ahead.
@blainyrules he replaced timo glock after he gashed his leg and had minor damage to his spine during qualifying in suzuka. Some people thought a japanese driver in a toyota is a commercial thing (probably was) and never had a future in f1. But he proved himself in the first race and in the 2010 season, i would love to see sauber succeed and get kamui up the front. But i think he would look awsome with lewis in a mclaren
Toyota were stupid to pull out of F1. They finally got a driver to represent the company and country who is competitive and get a lot out of the car and then they quit. Their loss and Saubers gain. If Kamui keeps up the pace, you could see this guy in a Red Bull alongside Vetell in 2012.
@jc790 well toyota had a lot of problems back then, the massive recalls and the US congress investigation that even the chairman and owner of toyota have to go and testify....but like you said, their loss and sauber's gain....
Kobayashi can be champion one day. He has the speed and can put the moves on the best of them. Japan, after all they've contributed to F1, deserve a WDC!
For me the best 'racing' drivers in F1, ie guys that can really do the business wheel to wheel (without taking out the opposition!!), are Hamilton, Button, Kubica and Kobayashi. Been some great battles between them.
Jenson Button was on cold tires and full of fuel, but that doesn't take away too much from Kobayashi's achievement. How many rookies in their second ever Grand Prix would have not only the pace, but also the audacity to put a move on the newly crowned world champion?
@babylon2233 And thats why I compare Kamui to Lewis. They have near identical driving styles that are very much inspired by the great Ayrton Senna. Hamilton is one of Senna's biggest fans, and Kobayashi has Senna's trainer. I would love to these to battling it out for championships, f1 as it should be with plenty of overtaking, maybe then I wouldn't mind who won the championship
I totally agree that MSC will soon become a sitting duck to KOB, however, that could be KOB prime target as well, i seem him attempted when he behinds MSC's car but just because Sauber's car is too slow to make it happen.
I totally agree that MSC will soon become a sitting duck to KOB, however, that could be KOB prime target as well, i seem him make his a few move when he behind MSC's car but just because Sauber's car is too slow to make it happen.

I instantly became a Kobayashi fan that day... Still am now. The Toyota was a pretty good car that year. But the BMW/Ferrari/Sauber/WTF he's in now is a significant downgrade but he's still managing to finish in the points. I'd like to see him in a more competitive car... perhaps a Mercedes if MSC just realizes his glory days are really done? I dunno... Just get the spectacular driver in a great car!
Unfortunately I think that KK has already signed up for another season with Sauber for - I think that he probably could have got a seat with one of the faster teams (such as taking Petrov's place at Renault) - let's hope that Sauber can give him a better car for 2011!
@F1guitarfanatic927 VET and WEB are locked in the RBR seats till 2013? BUT and HAM same, who knows. KOB chance is only with Ferrari or Renault after Sauber 2011.
@PJ2436 wtf?? that was vague and made no sense at all....he was a rookie who made the move while button's tyres were fresh, and it was voted the best overtake of the season, and rightfully so.....Alonso and jenson overtake in almost the same way, dumbass
So button was gonna get owned by hamilton? Doesnt seem that way now. They're both top drivers who've had very different careers. Either way kobayashi is a legend who deserves a better car.
In my opinion Kobayashi is the first serious driver Japan ever had ( ...no offense to the others). Usually Japanese drivers fall in confusion very easy when something go wrong or don't go as they planned. It is related with the Japanese system....( believe me...I lived there 6 years....). Kamui, instead seems to be capable to improvise...to change...to adapt..... of course Japanese people have many good features, but not that!
i couldn't have said it better myself. just cos jenson got overtaken by a car that was lighter, on the optimum temperature for the tyres it doesn't make him a crap driver. how hard is it to finish all but one race? not many drivers can do that, and hamilton certainly hasn't
no doubt Kobayashi is a great prospect (and I'm a big fan). But Button had only just come out of the pit's (cold tires and fueled to the end). Kobayashi was on a long run with much less fuel and tires in operating temperature. That doesn't make Button crap, but to the un-educated F1 fan it would seem that way :).
Just because he got over take by a rookie doesn't make him crap. Look at how many overtakes Hamilton pulled in his debut season/race, does that make nearly every other driver out there crap?
@paxter82 overtakes a lot like hamilton does, but people say he's more aggressive. I say he's not, at least he can pull off a move comfortably and skillfully without running into anyone, unlike vettel. and improving whereas vettel isnt
@paxter82 Yeah, you're right thank you for saying that. Lot of people think everything should be clean - but that basically means that nobody is really racing. Anyway Kobayashi is fair - especially against Hamilton because he knows Hamilton will fight to the death.
Kobayashi is FAR more experienced than Yuji Ide. Kamui's aggression isn't that kind of mischief. He deserved the Toyota Young Drivers Programme. Lucky loser Ide was an old dog old tricks racer to enter F1.
Goes to show that Kobayashi is ten times the driver Button will ever be. And it bewilders me to think that there's morons out there who actually think Button won that championship of his own merit.
Despite the less fuel and warmer tyres, Kobayashi did well to perform that overtake. It would certainly seem as though he has a natural talent for F1, but he needs to be careful not to go down the route of Yuji Ide, and get is racing license revoked for dangerous driving.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

yes he had the very best car in the grid, the years when the team was BAR-Honda/Honda he had a good car but didn´t made anything out of it and now he had the very best car in the first races, in the last races other cars where nearly the barwns and so he couldnt win anymore cause the other teams, special red bull and Mclarren, had the better driver, but he won the championship because of his won pionts in the first races with the superior brawn
He over took only because he was carrying lighter fuel and with warmer tyres. You can't compare the two vehicles when one of them has just came out of the pits.
@howlikedat a heavy brawn with cold tyres is slower than a lighter toyota on warm tyres, i think you underestimate the difference that tyre temperatures make in F1
@Dabayare Nevertheless, a stellar first performance by the rookie....I feel that thois is a good overtake because he got straight down to buisiness, and overtook straight away instead of waiting for button to get his tyre upto temperature
