durante el tiempo que Mega tuvo la transmision del festival, era caracteristico que para la television se escuchara re mal, en cambio estando allá, era muy bueno el audio.

uyyy me encanta laura branigan siempre veo sus actuaciones en youtube,recuerdo especialmente esta actuacion independiente de los desperfectos del sonio y todo eso,,le fue muy bien con el publico,le dieron antorcha y corearon sus canciones

La canción se llama Self Control (1984) su mayor éxito luego de Gloria! Esta no fue su mejor actuaciòn en Viña, las memorables son del 86 y 88. Sùbanlas por favor.

Que Hermosos recuerdos de la actuación de esta Gran Interprete Norteamericana, que lamentablemente ya no esta en este mundo, este fue uno de sus Grandes Exitos, Sef control, sus actuaciónes en Viña del Mar siempre fueron muy bonitas e inolvidables.

This song is definitely better with the original instrumentation. Laura was a trooper to sing her way through it with that band though!

Ofcristina was in Viña del Mar and said Laura was a little nervous at the beginnig 'cause she was a member of the jury and somehow had to sing without her band. Then people kept singing and asking her to come back... So she did and her performance was strong and she looked confident as usual. I just agreed after seeing the video where she performs Power of love and Gloria

i think she doesn't perform this song with seductive whispers as in the recorded version anyway. i notice that when she performs self control live , she usually does it using hardvoice but in this vina performance she didn't have the hardvoice to do that here !

La verdad es que me sentí algo triste al ver a Laura asustada o nerviosa en este vídeo, pensando en que vivía una época dura en su vida, pero al leer tus frases y al ver al vídeo donde canta Power of Love y Gloria creo que debió ser toda una experiencia, tanto para el público como para Laura.

Tuve la oportunidad de ver esta actuación esa vez...ella estaba nerviosa, porque participaba como jurado, por eso subió al escenario sin su banda. Después de unos minutos todos estaban cantanto y aplaudiendo. Al final terminaron pidiendo que volviera al escenario y ella cantando como siempre..con fuerza y muy segura de si misma.

I thought she looked beautiful. The crowd loved her. Although, it sounded that Laura wanted to stop but the orchestra kept going & going & going. She seem to have fun with it. BTW, Self Control aint the best song for an orchestra..lol.

Yeah, branigan2007 & xopherYTI. I thought the same when I first saw this video. But that was 1996, the year her husband died after 2 and a half year of Cancer, a painful desease. Just human! She kept her sadness in privacy. Let's celebrate the good times !!!
