  • Have you heard Sissel sing the song? I think she does it better than Sarah Brightman does.

  • Hey, where did you get the karaoke? Sweet voice :)

  • Magnificent, Cathryn! Anyone who manages to send shivers down the spine deserves respect. You've got mine. Warm regards. Jim.

  • Blown away by the fantastic voice. Reading some of the comments you might think Ooh No. But you are being compared to the best, Sarah Brightman. Being in the same league as her in not such a bad thing. Personally I think you are as good as her, and one can always fine tune an instrument, even a Stradivarius. Fantastic work, Just keep on singing

  • You did really good on this song! I performed this my friend in our christmas concert for choir. My only advice would to just round your vowels lot more. Other than that, you have such a sweet voice & great job!

  • You've a lovely voice, lass, but you need a better mic; it's spoiling your voice. A good mic shouldn't crackle while you sing, and you've a voice which deserves a decent mic. It pleases me to hear that you are taking vocal lessons. A good voice, in my opinion, should have proper training, and the better the voice, the greater the need to train it.

  • @HoopyFroodJerran Oooo- Pronunciation (no 'yay's hun, please!) needs major help! pretty harsh vocals overall. training with a pro sounds like best option if serious about singing the good stuff. just my '2 cents', as i feel a deep connection to this piece. But I admire your courage and your hard work.

  • You have such a beautiful and sweet tone. Thank you for sharing. :)

  • @MrBbminor No i have never sung in there, but it is a beautiful cathedral. I shall get round to re recordng this one day, with correct enunciations. But thanks for the compliment. x

  • I listened to two others before this one and I must say, I really enjoyed THIS version the most. Your voice is so nice and clear! I listened to it twice and will listen again. Love the vibrato, it is "just right".

  • Pee ay yazooooo! Sing it, don't shout it!

  • I must say, I AM NOT IMPRESSED! As a trained voice myself, I know how every single vowel sound at every note is trained. Her AAAAYYYEEE sounds send me into a migraine. It's like she is singing with a country twang. Just because you should do the two octave jump for those last notes, doesn't mean you should and it doesn't mean you should sing this song!

  • Very good, not as good as the original, but good.

  • @llangol Thanks for the compliment but Can i ask who you mean by the original? I have listened to that many versions, and it would be nice to get the pronounciation correct if i were to re-record. Every one seems to be that little bit different! Thanks!

  • @cathryn1975 I meant the Andrew lloyd Webber version, though this is not as far back as you can go to be original, it's probably is the best known. I think it was sung by his, then, wife Sara Brightman. I think this is a combination of songs, but to me the original and best, apart from yours.

  • @llangol You actually need to be more specific than "the Andrew Lloyd Webber version". Considering he wrote this song as a memorial to his father, & as far as I know (though I could be mistaken) there aren't any recording of himself singing this. all covers are technically the ALW version. The oldest recording I know of would be Sarah Brightman with Paul Miles-Kensington.

  • absolutely beautiful song, words and voice. Here are the words as they would be in English translation if anyone is interested.

    Merciful Jesus

Who takes away the sins of the world

    Grant them rest

    Lamb of God

    Grant them everlasting rest

  • Your voice is truly beautiful and has a sweet ring to it, but you should work on your pronounciation of the lyrics; it falters at times. Shame though, because it's a rather beautiful recording :D

  • hey, you're great! i have uploaded a video of myself singing this song, please listen to it and let me know what you think :)

  • This is beautiful

  • Sweet..... very beautiful duet with yourself.... this is my favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber piece and you did him proud...

  • Thanks for the compliments peoples! xxx

  • in one word...

    Beautiful

  • Nice voice. How old are you?? :) if you keep it up, you're bound to be a pretty good soprano :D

  • @CuteMcBeauty 35 hon so a bit long in the tooth in the vocal stakes lol! Only just starting singing lessons but more for my own enjoyment rather than any proffessional aspirations these days, but thanks for the compliment! x

  • @cathryn1975 I'm 33, started taking lessons at 17, but even now I'm still learning!! This is one of those things you just never swtop learning! ;) So keep it up. I still think it's nicely done. And if you can do a duet with yourself, it means you have a good ear to elad the mezzo and the soprano voices. Goodie!!! :D

  • good voice, but really bad vowels......

  • I've actaully been in this church over in England it is beautiful in person!!!

  • a sound of beauty is a joy forever !

  • Ahh la voce di un angelo ... pour un altro gin tonic
