I think it's the delivery. I get that he's going for subtlety, but the funny doesn't come through and it seems like he not connected to his own material...I dunno...just random thoughts.
Some of the clown stuff was funny... but on a whole I'd only give him a 3 (out of 10). Poor guy, it's not his fault he's not funny! Okay, maybe it is...
