  • Lübster! :D

  • Mexican lobsters. Makes perfect sense.

  • (*total grammar police moment*) correction, "Ey! can't you see i'm WALKIN HERE!!!!!"

  • NO, your in a New York state of mind when your out on the street yelling "Ey! can't you see i'm WALKIN HEAR!!!!!" and " YO, TAXI!!!!!!"

musical classic huh?..... never heard of it!

  • Awesome, im loving the bit with the lobsters.

  • @14597ojai u met her by saving her from a cooking pot being cooked by a huge chef? so romantic! :D

  • 2:08 that was how i met MY first girlfriend :)

  • Has anyone noticed how most of the characters play their guitars, banjos, etc by left hand?

  • Comment removed

  • @benschlechter Yeah! With the rod armed ones it's because it leaves the right hand free to work the puppet's head, but with a two-person muppet like Fozzie, I have no idea why he's lefty (unless the arm muppeteer actually WAS lefty). Anyone know?

  • "Herrday, shmirday hoop... what da hay?" I almost passed out laughing.

  • By the way when does Rizzo the Rat appear in the show?

  • the swedish chef said horday borday what the hay

  • "She's nothing like you at all....she's BEAUTIFUL"

  • Heh, my brother would totally identify with the Swedish Chef sketch. The lobster is one of his favorite animals for some reason and he hates it when I eat one.

  • I bet Pepe could've spoken to those lobsters and smoothed things over. Too bad he hadn't appeared yet.

  • That was a good cover of Billy Joel's NY State of Mind

  • that joke at the end... was not funny :P

  • Haven't seen these in years. We used to tape them every week, wish I still had the tapes, but they didn't survive 25+ years of moves. What's great is back then I laughed at different stuff that a 5-6 yr. old would enjoy. Now I see them and I see Animal as Keith Moon, the keyboard player as Dr. John, have a friend in Sweden, and have seen Madeline Khan's roles in Blazing Saddles and History of the World. Same show, same routines but now I'm laughing at different stuff.

  • @beagle379 the keyboard player is Dr. Teeth

  • @TheaterServant On the Muppet Show yes that's the name. But if you look up Dr. John you will find the real life inspiration for that character. I was referring to the real life musicians that these characters are based on.

  • @beagle379 sorry!

  • I didn't know Gonzo liked Miss Piggy

and I like his ghetto gold chain necklace

  • Gonez likes piggy

    Kermet kind of likes piggy

    Piggy loves Kermit

  • 2:34 - What the hay? LOL

  • Could somebody explain to me what was so magical about Fozzie's magic ukulele?

  • strangepork how funny

  • open mouth insert foot, eh gonzo?

  • Lobsters from Mexico.

  • @LFirstbasema and clams from germany

  • Oh my gosh that is funny.....after close inspection, I am pretty it's the *eyelids* that are Pacinoesque. :)

  • lol your funny

  • What is it that Gonzo always reminds me of Al Pacino?

  • [q]What is it that Gonzo always reminds me of Al Pacino? [/q]

....maybe be 'cause of his haircut?

  • Yeah, it must be the haircut...

(First thought of the voice and maybe the jacket, but this makes more sense:P)

  • Zoot and Floyd are the best bluesmen ever

  • Did the narrator say "Tune in two weeks from tonight, and miss next week's Pigs In Space"? That was funny.

  • The best Swedish Chef episode ever!

  • Gonzo+Madeline= OTP

  • What does OTP mean?

  • One True Pairing :D

  • wickedfeylady: Personally, I ship Kermit/Piggy & Gonzo/Camilla, for obvious reasons. Floyd/Janice comes in at fourth, since Gobo/Red comes third.

  • Ypu guys what about Camilla?

    Gonzo loves Camilla!

  • He hadn't met Camilla yet at this point.

  • Where was Camilla any way?

  • collgoff: Acting as part of an all-chicken "dancing girls" & "choir" troupe.

  • Okay then!

  • wow, thats a pretty nice cover of "New York State of Mind!"

  • All time greatest Swedish Chef bit!

  • I love the Swedish cheft, hes so cool =]

  • I simply Love the Muppet`s.

  • So Gonzo has been carrying a torch for Piggy since last season? Guess he decided not to be so open about it unless he got hit again.

I'm guessing they made a Gonzo puppet with that scrunching mechanism for this episode for when Piggy punches him.

  • Actually, if you look closely, you can see that the end of his nose is scrunched up underneath his mouth. Guess he really underestimated Piggy's punch.

Also, speaking of Miss Piggy, I think this version of her is the best one that was made and I wish it was kept for the rest of the Muppet Show's run. (She was rebuilt about midway through Season 3 I think.)

  • It seems peculiar that the mythical dr. strangepork would be responsible for posting this...but whatever. thank you.

  • absolute best thing with all muppets shows is the old hecklers in each episode

  • i dont know if they're the absolute best, but they are a hoot. I personally like all the guest stars.

  • Wow, the bassist reminds me a lot of Willie Nelson's voice. I love the critcs!!

  • nice sketch of New York State of Mind!

  • I've always loved the critics

  • The lobster banditos made one of the greatest Swedish Chef sketches, no... one of the greatest muppet sketches ever aired. Loved it. Thank you so much for sharing it.

  • Miss Piggy is the female charcter and she

loves Kermit and she hates scary monsters on

their show. It came from the Muppets.

  • exactly why are the lobsters Mexican?

  • Because thats where they were born apparently.

  • French lobsters weren't in season. XD

  • You should see the "Muppets Tonight" episode with the Shellfish Liberation Party.

"No more movies based on old TV shows! It's not really part of our cause, but it's a good idea!"

  • Wait-Gonzo had a crush on Miss Piggy?!???!? When did that hapen??!?

  • Awhile back I believe. Of course, I thought he was still inlove with his chicken. Camilla.

  • Until he fell in love with Big Bird.

  • mage: He hasn't met Camilla yet. It wasn't until he fell for Big Bird that he noticed his affinity for poultry.

  • Too bad that there was no talk spot in this episode with Madeline Kahn and Kermit. Kermit loved to flirt with all the female guest stars of the show's first 2 seasons!

  • Sorry I ment his right ear

  • Links left pig ear is folded Ha Ha!!!!! Great vid.
